as much as i hate to admit it, Dettlaff really needed to die. he was just too far gone, and what he did to the people of Beauclair was inexcusable.
I feel so bad for Dettlaff...poor vampire 😭
In forgiving you I grieve..for now we must part..a shame
"Dettlaff, please. All this...for one woman?" "You understand nothing."
Finally I can understand a little about why this piece its so sad, if you listen Lacrimosa of Mozart, does the same thing with the chords, but in Syanna’s theme its slower, makes them sound like a sigh, 2 chords and then a pause, like u are taking air then letting the air out.
I really dont want to kill dettlaff, but he is too dangerous to be left alive.
It's not a Jedi way!
Some even say he has control of the Senate and the courts.
❤️🩹
I'm so happy she's ok in my playthrough (never watched any guide, that moment when you realize that seemingly insignificant action saved her and went holy shit thank god I did that......, cd project you evil genius story teller)
There is no right choice in blood and wine
Regis didn't kill Dettlaf for Geralt and Beauclair. He did it for Dettlaf.
I know she's the villain and that she is the Beast of Beauclair but it doesn't change the fact that i fell hard for her even if she's wrong i can't help but love her a lot, damn they know how write a character.
SPOILERS! I wanted to save Dettlaff, I really did. Remember that in the past Regis has killed innocent people just to indulge in his addiction also him siccing a pack of vampires in the city could be forgiven (if enough time passed) but it is very much implied in his final transformation that he just passed the point of no return, he might not be able to get back into his original form. Very sad and tragic, he could have become someone like Regis with his mentorship.
The fact that people are still torn over if they are on either Syanna's or Dettlaff's "side" just confirms how brilliantly complex these characters are. The story and writing for this game is so amazing!
The ending I ended up getting on my first playthrough was the one where Syanna dies and Dettlaff could live by complete accident, when I was given the choice to spare him or kill him, I sat on that screen for at least 15 minutes to eventually just put the controller down to think about it. The point is I found this scene so powerful that for the first time in any game ever it made me walk away to actually think about it. I decided to kill him because of what he did and to put him out of his misery. Basically I loved the writing of blood and wine because of this dilemma
Many of us have replayed the game and still have to give the decision pause. I think Detlaff was a dangerous beast but without much reason and Syanna was a man made monster made by her family and those around her. People needed to stop dying but its hard to have to put one or the other's head on the chopping block. Either way, CDPR made us feel lament and kind of dirty regardless of which route we took. And THAT'S excellent complex writing.
Dettlaff became a monster at the end of the boss battle. Not just physically. This is implied with the music that mix with the same shaelmar ost.
This is so beautyful
“What did you do?” “What I had to do….. what she deserved”
Am i rhe only one that sympathizes with Syanna?
Nope. But If she was ugly I wouldn’t lol
Not only you. Definitely all that felt a whole lot of pain in their lives, since they understand her best.
Just started blood and wine and found this song i know this gonna be sad😢
Dettlaff we love you, u deserved better in any way
To have a vampire like Dettlaff as a lover is so tempting. Yet so dangerous. I understand them both (except for using him for the revenge by Syanna).
I understand why she did, they had it coming
Syanna admitted she never loved Detlaff.
As long as you don't lie to them, betray them and force them to do stuff they detest, you'll be fine
For those of you curious, this is an unofficial track on the OST, It’s actually a combination of two “layers” The first part is called “Toussaint - Dialogue music shared - sad harp mix” The other is called “Toussaint - Dialogue music shared - sad”
Damn! I finally find this! Thank you!
I know this is called Syanna's theme... but honestly, it could be used for Detlaff and Anna-Henrietta too. For whichever ending you choose... for atleast one of these three, sometimes everyone, their part in the story ends in tragedy. In my own playthrough, at first, I destroyed Detlaff but ended up with Syanna killing her sister and in turn dying herself. When I played through the game again, I got the ending where both Syanna and the Duchess lived, but Detlaff perished once again. And although I thought this to be the "best" ending... in the end I cannot say that Detlaff was a wholehearted monster. He -did- do monstrous things like the murders and siccing a horde of vampires onto an innocent city, but he was also a victim of Syanna's manipulation, so I can atleast understand where he came from. But yeah... a hundred percent good ending was never an option.
But Dettlaff ordered the other vampires to attack Beauclair just because Anna Henrietta was stupid and chose to sacrifice the whole town and not just hand over Syanna 🤷🏼♀️ that was immature and selfish. Dettlaff only wanted explanations, and it was the sisters who were able to prevent the massacre.
the real beast of beauclair
yes she attackted the city with an army of vampires she is the real beast
@@spearofthechurch irony?
Anytime I hear this music I know it's going to be sad story and I will cry
Detlaff deserved better. WEE WOO SPOILERS. . . . . . A monster on the path of becoming a man; Regis truly believed one day he would end up getting a grip on his passions and end up in control like he is. And he really was- he was slipping but otherwise was trying to integrate into society and trust others. Syanna ruined everything. I understand her reasons for revenge, but I don't forgive it when she couldn't care less for the cataclysm left in the wake of pursuing it. Namely, using a very dangerous man to do her work rather than assassins who yes, while may not have been as disposable; would have still probably carried out her revenge without turning a monstrous man back into being just that: a monster. And ironically leading him right back to her when she'd made a very clear attempt to make distance between the two. I played the version where I saved her first- even had her forgive with her sister; but it left nothing but misery in its wake. Hundreds dead during the vampiric city assault, even more wounded including children no doubt. (we see from the bruxa approaching when the city is in chaos, a small girl.) and Regis also losing his home and perhaps one of his greatest friends. Someone who understood him, someone he'd poured time into to teach and help. All for nothing, so Syanna could get her revenge through bloodshed and not just fucking with the duchy and ruining their reputation as a beacon of power? Detlaff deserved better.

Just as an entire Witcher 3 detlaff is a disappointment for me. In the beginning it was good - detlaff was forced to kill, he was a victim as well. But in the end "I will let go this woman in front of me, but if she will not come to me later I will destroy the entire innocent city which has nothing to do with me and this woman". Just brilliant) From victim to psycho in one second) It is a common problem of Witcher 3 - poor writing. Good start but poor ending without any OMG twists
Emm.. didn't Regis mentioned that vampires had far stronger emotions than humans and what human can simply surpass or forget about some misunderstandings and "hidden games" and schemes, vampire will complain about that for years or - like in Detlaff case - start looking for revenge? So I see this discussion ended. Right here.
@@gabrielbytomirdydak256 Regis is a vampire and he don't go "little whining bitch" mode if anything happens) But of course - you are a crazy Witcher fan and you will fight to the death in order to justify every stupid thing in the game) weirdos)
