Geometric Camera Calibration - The GEOCAL method
In this webinar, we discuss the traditional methods of geometric camera calibration such as using checkerboard test charts. We then present GEOCAL, a new method for geometric camera calibration.
GEOCAL is a compact device that uses a beam-expanded laser and a diffractive optical element to generate a grid of light spots originating from infinity.

How closely does the LE7 spectra match those of the CIE standards? I find it difficult to assess that from the colours shown.
Again, thank you for sharing your insights. It would be helpful if you could provide an idea of the scope of these resolution tools, e.g. in terms of dpi/lpi (and mm). Also which suppliers of the targets would you suggest? I have been trying to test the achieved resolution of a scanner which promises 2400 dpi, but seems to achieve only 55% of this, using a USAF target.
Very interesting and useful. I am attempting to achieve high colour rendering of heritage prints in a studio setting. I have a measured 12641-2 target with spectral and XYZ data. Can I use this data, which is comparable to your monochrome filter set, to calculate the spectral sensitivity of camera sensors? I am trying to produce ICCs for an OM camera with 30 and 60 mm macro lenses, which produce different colour outputs. For the light source, I have standardised on a xenon flash, filtered to produce a CCT of ca 4960K, i.e. near D50. Can your software be adjusted to suit this application? Presumably this calibration can be done at the photosite level, identifying variation in sensor sensitivity or uneveness of lighting or effects of the lens.

At what distance?
As far away as you can manage, if you can get at least 20 feet / 6 metres away that will be a good calibration.
Varies from lens to lens. Can be read in the manual. 2-15m. Usually 5m.

@@ChristopherWoods If the subject on which you do the back focus was too far away, after you open the zoom, the close subject may not be sharp. What lens do you have? Broadcast? Each lens has a user manual. Do as described, or try again, and again!

curious, is this for zoom lenses only, or also for primes?
bruh... its for zoom lenses only because prime lenses have no multiple focal lengths where focus can be lost... you cant lose focus when zooming with a prime, cause zooming with a prime aint possible
