Добавлен 3 сен 2012
I am a woodwind doubler who enjoys playing and performing on flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon. The purpose of this channel is to be one in which new interpretations of standard instrumental literature as well as those not so familiar will be explored. The music shared will be representatives from many different genres, classical to jazz and all the in-between. I would love to hear from you both through email and through your comments.

Sonata Latino: III. Bossa Merengova
Просмотров 5744 года назад
This work was composed by Mike Mower in 1994 as a commission for flutist Kirsten Spratt and pianist Elizabeth Mucha. Various Latin rhythms, such as the 2-3 Clave rhythm that prevails throughout mvt. 1, are used throughout this work, though, Mower did not intend for the presentation of these rhythms to be a strict representation of the idiom. The movements are labeled to reflect the fusion of di...
"Flower Duet" from Lakmé - arr. Soprano/Flute
Просмотров 4914 года назад
Taken from Léo Delibes opera Lakmé, the Flower Duet is an easily recognized duet for soprano and mezzo soprano often sung and recorded by artists independently from the opera. The opera Lakmé is set in India during the late nineteenth century when the British were in power and had banned the practice of Hinduism. The plot revolves around a British troop, Gérald, falling in love with Lakmé, the ...
Response to Coronavirus "It's So-Lonely"/"It's De-Lovely"

Based on Cole Porter's 1936 tune "It's De-Lovely", I added/altered the lyrics to present the common case of the student (grade school - graduate school) and our response to the Coronavirus through remote or online work. We are all in the same boat so hopefully this humorous song will help us to get through these unpleasant times with a smile or two! Be sure and click the like button below and s...

Beautiful.
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed!
Sehr Schön! Danke viel!
Flowers in the atic book. Right?
Hello TEACHER!😀
WHAT. I will never be able to do this 😂 Beautiful job!
Yes you will! I said the same thing a couple years ago in 11th grade when I first got this piece. My solo turned out good but I couldn’t ever completely get the 32nd notes. I came back to it recently, worked on the difficult passage slowly to make it more clear, and now it’s much more comfortable and almost perfect! It just takes some practice
Lovely. My favourite hymn. Fantastic arrangement and performance.
Superb!
That's Fun!!😃😃👍👍
Thank you! This recording helped me with tempo and style.
So glad this helped!
bro this is my solo and ensemble and I'm in 9th grade fml
same my dude
im in six and i can play this i am serious😅
The beginning seemed like almost too slow
You’re great !!
Nice
We loved listening to this! It was beautiful!
Getting real into it at 1:59

Omg I sound like total shit compared to this 😭😖😣
Yeah!!!! I know him. :)
Cries in 32 notes

You deserve to have way more views and subscribers on your channel. You are incredibly talented.
oh my god-
sis I pray for you
Kiro kiro omg-
Well that's gonna be hard to learn
Same
nice arrangement
I’m playing this for my solo this year, but what tempo did you take the Allegro part?
Quarter note = 100
Thank you!
Me too, I have to do this for my middle school for a solo
Hey that was awesome! Someone needs to sign her!
Nice performance!
UMHB stands for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
I have to perform this for a state competition and i love it i can’t wait to finish it 💯❤️
were did you get the piano-sheets, cause i'm gonna be playing exactly the same part of this Compositionin a few weeks, but have a hard time finding piano sheets for this... Help would be greatly appreciated... + please excuse any spelling-mistakes, because i'm from germany and still learning...
I believe the piano part can be found on IMSLP.org the American version not he UK or other version.
Great job yo! You'll want to slow the temp for that 10 year anniversary though!!
so good👏🏼
This video has helped me with my Wind Ensemble concert, thank you.
Awesome!
Why so fast? Because it is technically easy? It is, but it is also wonderful music and the tempi spoiled the performance.
The tempos were taken from the recording of Jean Pierre Rampal and Julius Baker. Music, in my opinion, is not to be put in categories of technically easy or hard, rather the level of all music should set to the standard of expression, and as such what a piece can be should be held to that standard. I am sorry that the tempos throughout the piece spoiled the performance for you and I suggest that in the future you view live music (which this is a recording of) in a different light!
Alexander my friend, believe me I did not mean to offend you. As one who first played this duet in a conservatory student recital in 1956, I feel that I have lived with this work long enough to have a pretty fair understanding of it as well the flute which I still toot publically at the energetic age of 82.Bless you in your chosen field.Robert Hawkins
@@dixiebobh then prove it
it’s in cut time so this tempo isn’t even fast
Played pretty well, was kind of funny to watch the faces of them after they make minor mistakes 😄
+xXBUDDERPENGUIN43Xx FTW Pretty well you say, the group had only played one semester at that point but thanks for watching! The crazy cat playing the flute making faces is me.
