You can't get annoyed because people aren't living life the way you expect them to. Life just isn't that simple. She's addicted for a reason you just said so in the beginning of the end. Even if she is in denial about it. She's not comfortable and would rather put herself at further risk than go to a refuge. Doesn't that just show how vulnerable she really is? She still deserves a house, maybe she would pay her rent etc maybe she wouldn't. I wouldn't say she's acting entitled. She is entitled. It's a basic human right and need. Your contradicting saying she shouldn't be homeless but at the same time saying she should be because of her struggles. Maybe the health system and so forth should do more to help the most vulnerable. For instance my twin sister was an addict. Got herself clean as excepted. Still 5 years on lost her life. Due to serve mental health break down. The kind when your too poorly to understand just how sick you are (schizophrenic, thought the whole world was plotting her demise, living in delusion etc) still, the nurses expected her to call and get her own help (would you call some one you thought was going to k I l l you?). Years ago (our mum has severe mental health), our mum was forceablly sectioned 3 times and thankfully eventually got well. Of course my mum didn't know she was unwell in her psychosis. We had to fight to get her help. Now she's thriving. Well a year ago I begged for any one and everyone to do some thing to help my sister. I was literally told that they won't help her until she tells them shes unwell and needs help. How can some one in severe crisis who every one knows is mentally gone to be expected to do that. Of course my twin was left to die. And us left behind absolutely broken. On something like this, you have to out all judgement behind you. Forget about money. Money is just evil. If you genuinely believe every life matters. Stop looking down on the most vulnerable. They suffer the most ultimately. You pay council tax yet still have a warm home nice clothes snacks holidays. You certainly aren't as hard done by as you think just doing your bit. Can not stand that attitude. Why do I pay council tax for this. Why do I have to pay for their habit etc. Oh sssh. You pay because you can and should do your bit. Yes dawn should too but obviously she isn't stable enough to in the first regard and I stand by my point in the beginning that these people should be forced into getting help for the very same reasons stated above and to also end the cycle. However that won't happen because people's priority is money and what brings more money than sorrow and suffering (really think about it, jobs, services such as counselling, doctors, funeral services). People think they are clever when saying they don't contribute to society. When you actually think about it, they contribute a lot more than your average person. And for society to work the way it does, they are kind of needed and that's why they get left and continue to live in a life like this. Just be kind to who ever comes your way. After all we all came here the same way and we all leave the same too. Its what happens in between that causes this.

Stop making excuses for this pathetic woman. Are you in your right mind? The worst part is how addiction is also funded by benefits, how does that give them incentive to change. If she were given a house it would become a crack den in no time.

You wii find with most of them homless dont really help them self when it comes too drugs and alcohol if they paid there rent instead of spending it on getting high alot of them wouldn't even be homless in the first place alot of it is there own doing im afraid nobody forces them too drink and take drugs

Interviewer needs to be educated on drugs. Eventually drug users dont get high they use it to feel normal and stop withdrawals .

I could remember several years ago cocaine addiction actually destroyed my life. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

the stuff is expensive to maintain, and it keeps people from daily working, so they turn to the street working.. hope she enentually goes cleaner. and away from all that..dont happen in one day, steps here and there..

Nobody makes people take drugs and nobody can make people stop either it's down to the individual no sympathy everyone's got an excuse for their reasons to be on drugs but not everybody deals with their problems by self medicating

She is saying this chick doesn’t deserve a home because she was offered a place in a refuge but turned it down….it speaks volumes when someone would rather be homeless than stay is a refuge!!! Think the female interviewer should maybe go& do some homework on woman’s refuges (not saying they’re all terrible) or even go & stay a few nights in one (not just a few hours…)

I struggled with addiction for a few year after loosing my mam then my partner. Last year my dad was diagnosed with cancer and there was a switch in me . I have completely turned my life around I have my children back and I have never been so happy. If I can do it anyone can ❤
