I think you underestimate him like a lot people do. I will admit he is self obsessed more than most, but he is also very aware of himself which many don't want to admit. Even after being shot at, his first thought is to get the pic. It's perfect comedy and lines up with how we have always known him to be. He is 24/7 on stage and is the best self promoter. Also I think it only grazed the tip of his ear. To address the conspiracy of this being scripted- do you really think he would want this to be a glancing blow without any drama? I think he would go for the full shot to the chest or something with more to it and really rake in that spotlight. Also I think they would make the shooter a migrant, something more on point with the campaign. We've already moved past the first attempt and the fact there's almost no scarring to show off for cameras, I think all the evidence points to this being real.
