All this teaches is how to manipulate people into doing what you want, which is to meet your emotional social needs without realizing it or catching on to your social needs grift. This is pathetic. Actual adults can be vocal and direct about their emotional needs and other actual adults are capable of willingly providing that emotional support being requested by the other adult and won't be scared off if you come accross "too desperate or hungry". If you have to go around acting like you're able to meet all of your own emotional social needs in order to draw in the actual emotional support you need from others, that's like trying to lick your own elbow.
