Hitler did not want to wipe out England, he didn’t even want to invade England which is why he tried to make a deal. England is an Anglo Saxon nation. Hitler’s said this numerous times before the war, even calling them German. He spoke about English art, innovation, literature, impressed by the empires growth. The information about the imminent invasion was passed to the Soviet Union, though the sources were concealed (as the Germans had no idea their codeswere being broken). Stalin thought this was a plot by the British to try to bring the Soviets on to the British side and refused to believe what he was being told. How could Stalin fall for the pact with Hitler? Was he not aware of Hitler's track record on breaking agreements (e.g. the Munich Agreement in 1938)?

I think Hitler / the Nazis (in regard to Britain) initially saw the British (due to their imperial prowess and the previous allied history between the Brits and Germans) as Aryan / Pure / Germanics. However, after the UK declared war on Germany, and after the Battle of Britain, the Nazi perspective would have changed drastically, as the British were the only reason that the invasion of France and Italy were able to happen (due to winning the BOB and NA Campaign) So they did initially want the UK / Empire as friends, however the British kept their promise to Poland and said they would declare war if Poland was invaded, which sparked the propaganda machine to shift.

It might all seem like idle speculation, but to understand how close the world came to global Nazi domination (yes, including the USA) just consider that By the end of the war, Germany had already developed rocket technology and had begun producing the first self propelled missiles (the V2.) From that point, it was just a matter of time before the range would have been increased to cross continents (as it eventually was later by the U.S. and Russia.) Also consider that Germany had also developed the jet engine and produced the first fighter jet (the ME262.) If these weapons had been developed any sooner, or if the defeat of Germany had come any later, they would have been potential game changers. It’s true that the Americans were the first to develop the atomic bomb (first successfully tested in July 1945) but nuclear fission was actually discovered by the Germans as early as 1938, and they had their own nuclear programme which was ultimately scaled back. If those other weapons had brought success for the Germans earlier in the war it may have allowed them to enter the nuclear arms race with the USA. The triumph of the Third Reich and the realisation of its global vision were not as distant as many people imagine.
