My LR army is WotR themed as well and very similar to your Yorkists; and the crossbows with their 7+ activation are always the millstone. Replace them with more bows or roll for them last.

Nice video. At around 11:30 did the foot knight command move at all? Once they fail their charge they have to roll another D6 to see how far they “stumble” forward but must stop at least 1” away from an enemy. The mailed spearmen just after, looks like a few of those are not within 2” cohesion either, might just be the camera angle though.

Enjoyed watching Your game... Rebels and Patriots and Lion Rampant are good rule systems and are very adaptable, in my gaming group we use both sets for more formal battles and not at skirmish level.. I have even used these rules for a massed 6mm Napoleonic battle where each unit of 150 figures represents a brigade or division ... The main thing is we never remove casualties because for us it looks so much better and our figures of all scales are on multiple bases Look forward to seeing more Napoleonic action 😊

Thanks for sharing your game. This is the size of game I would like to try with the 28mm Napoleonics I've been painting. Did you have to change anything in the rules for Napoleonics, or do you have any recommended house rules? My figures are single based, I'm hoping that doesn't matter?

I think one of the keys in this system is to make sure your assault units *don't* outpace your ranged units. The archers on the hill were hugely vulnerable to being driven off the board by a failed morale test, but they never really took fire. This is often the danger I get into with my Swedes in Pikeman's Lament.

A good video, well done. Just one small rule misinterpretation. When turning down opposing dice for HA you cannot exceed an equal result. Therefore a winning Archer result can't be turned into a losing Archer result. Armour only protects the unit, it doesn't make it more powerful in melee.

Historicon 2024 was a blast! My only regret is that I never checked out Wally's basement. My schedule was booked solid, and Wally's was always closed when I had free time. I also tried to focus my spending. The Badger and Things from the Basement booths got most of my money this year. I picked up a bunch of Baron's War and Feudal Japan minis, along with a couple of terrain pieces. There are so many tempting things in that vendor hall.

My plan is to grab more stuff for Baron's War and Saga, including miniatures and terrain pieces, but there is always something else there that ends up taking my money.
