Samantha has been playing this song for 10 years or more. I love what she's been doing with it recently. I saw her last night in Milwaukee. Did anyone record it? I was stunned! It was her best performance yet of Jim Lee Blues. ... And I truly hope somebody videoed the entire 8/14/2025 Milwaukee show. Poor Black Mattie absolutely blew the roof off of Shank Hall.

Patty Mattea my Brandy from the San Pedro LA Harbor Bowery. She last tended bar at Tommy's on 6th Street (circa '76). What a beauty, could have walked the Red Carpet at the Oscars. Originally from Montana. Many guy's were in love with her including Attorneys, Seamen, Long Shoremen, Doctor's. I often played Brandy for her on the juke box. I knew her well. She was so genuine. Passed away young (mid 30's).
