The Play & Charge kit doesn't send data from the controller to the PC, it only does power. You will either need an actual wired Xbox 360 controller or get a wireless receiver that is compatible with the wireless Xbox 360 controller.

rbh thjeres no reason for this shit to not work as a wired controller, on the xbox 360 this adapter does actually send the signals via usb, if you have a 360 with a broken wireless module you can use the wireless controllers connected this way, so its just a matter of software
