I love your books but my all time favorite is Velveteen it's amazing I've actually read it about 80 or so times by now I'm not kidding either. It's one of my most valuable books. I hope I can be a great author like you one day

Thank you for your honesty and openness. The part in particular that really struck me was when you were discussing wondering what the "point" was. That's something I feel very deeply in my depressive episodes, a pervasive, all-encompassing sense of pointlessness or meaninglessness. I'm the kind of person that thinks and thinks and thinks, so my depressions are very existential i would say.

You have my support. Hang in there.

I don't know what I'm talking about. But I love your vlogs, and I think you're hilarious! Glad we met, even if it was only for a millisecond.

Thank you for this. Everything you said hit with me because my depression sounds just like yours. Instead of writing mine goes with the crafts I make and the craft business I'm trying to start. Also with the author events I set up where I work. I feel like I could have done better, no-one will buy my crafts because they are not good enough, the author events will fail because I didn't do enough. When you mentioned you stare at the wall for hours it made me realise that I'm not the only one who does that. When I do it my body feels numb and a weight is holding me down and I can't move. It's a constant battle to stay out of the dark hole of depression. So thank you again for speaking out about a subject that most never want to talk about.

Danny, I am so glad to hear that you have more work coming out and that you're working on new content. That's exciting! You said you were going to give it another year…though that doesn't seem like much time, you can get a lot done in a year, especially with your determination and love for writing! You have a fabulous personality and imagination. You bring so much to readers everywhere! Keep at it!

This is a late post to this video, but one of the reasons that I unsubscribed to all book tube channels is that everyone is reading the same 25-30 fucking books! Thousands (tens of thousands?) of books come out every year. Jesus, booktubers, read something else! Also, where the HELL are the booktubers reading something written for people over the age of 15? Ahhhh. I have to stop now so that I can gouge my eyes out.

Oh, Danny I'm sorry to hear you're struggling and thinking about giving up. But I can understand everything you said. I noticed, too, that making videos, though being a lot of fun, bites into the time I have for reading and writing. And I'm also not able to get up early to write. I hope that 2014 will be better for you and that you feel good again.

Totally agree with you and that is why I have been trying to talk about a local author's books. I did a giveaway, and have tweeted about her series. That new mystery by Rowling would not have even been a top selling book if it wasn't leaked that she wrote it....how many people read that just because of Harry Potter???

I buy mainly e-books and read mainly on my e-reader. I know most readers are partial to paper books, but I am in love with my Kindle.I bought Parts & Wreck when it came out. I haven't read anything you've written yet, but I want to, because I love your taste in books and (what I've seen of) your personality. Good luck with everything! Happy Holidays! =)

I feel you on the Christmas poverty, I really do. That shit is no joke! But your productivity really inspires! Your plan sounds solid. I'd give my left nut, so to speak, to have a set of e-romances out right now. LOL Also I forsee some changes in YA in the future as the set of kids and their respective reading tastes change. We're going from the sheltered, conservative but friendly Millenials to a huge new generation of kids-"Gen Z" aka the children of Generation X. Who I think will be a bit more open and out there. They weren't raised by Boomers or Yuppies. They've been exposed to a lot more. I mean my cohort don't use the sandwich method with our kids. If they are being a jerk we just say that shit straight. LOL I predict a lot more bisexual characters and libertine kind of stuff over the next 5-10 years. It's an interesting time. You may just be ahead of the curve.
