Purchased mine on eBay for ~$40. It is "Mittel Moyen" or Medium Regular in size, but fits like a large or XL as it is an overcoat.

Dude great video. I love and use surplus gear all the time. I am a small Channel and prefer watching smaller channels myself because I think they have better content. Just subbed. I will check out your other videos. Keep up the good work

The mount is a Norotos Titanium ACH mount, make sure to get one with the bolt so you can actually mount it. Looks like they are sitting at $30-40 on eBay.

One of the inherent beauties of this system is that there are many many ways to Alice. Personally, I use a Chemical Suit Bag to carry a lightweight sleeping bag, and attach it to the bottom of the ALICE bag and frame using any suitable straps. Unironically, the waist pack has the volume of one issue poncho liner, which I attach to the upper webbing on the pack, and further secure using the pack lid and straps. I create extra storage using a Molle II Sustainment pouch on each side of the pack. The side webbing is perfect for this. Also, lacking any irony, I use the sustainment pouches for food, a small backpacking stove and fuel. I have abandoned the Alice waistbelt in favor of the Molle II waist belt (straps too). I attached two nagene bottle carriers on each side of the waistbelt for hydration. Is this a "patrol" setup? Hardly. It is, however, a way to deploy a relatively inexpensive, but strong system in the civilian world. Like I said, there are many, many ways to ALICE.

The real purpose of the butt pack or patrol pack is the European foraging bag or bread bag. ( Slack pack) It contained the mess kit, cooking canteen, stove, food, hygiene, sewing kit, and personal items. It attached to the belt with a cross strap. So your butt pack was to be slung to the side when the Alice pack was worn for transport. The two quart canteen has a utility strap with it's own NSN. Expendable item. There are some three lengths. It also is used in the field wire spool. The supply sergeant seems to have none as they are not an accountable item. They also make cool rifle slings. The two rear h or y harness clips are the same. Thus the straps go on those grommets. Attached to the belt or slung loose as the POW or go to town satchel. The Americans have much much larger bags.

Why not run the button straps through those two frame holes instead of using zip ties?

That is totally something that works as well if you want. I just didn’t want to crease the stiffened webbing tabs.

Thanks for showing! For better retention of the MOLLE Waist Pack just use both 1 inch straps, feeding them through the webbing loops at the botom of the ALICE Pack like you´ve shown, then bring them around the lower metal bar of the ALICE frame (the part where you used the zip ties). Now, when you pull these 1 inch compressions straps firm, the Waist Pack will pull itself against the metal frame and the ALICE pack and doesn´t move anywhere. Thats how I did it with mine, no complains. Cheers Torsten

Plus it's truly modular. In that you can move it from one pack to another or use as waist pack. ( Amazing). I prefer cordage over zips, as cordage can be reused. Yeah, blah blah Malice clips, etc. But why? Also, I've found that 1100 cord is better for large pass throughs.

And you have a replacement two-inch buckle if the buckle on your waist belt fails.
