    Thank you for the tip to lighten the leather dye. Why the methylated spirits vs other products or even just diluting with water?

    Knife looks ok. Kinda stylish and even functional. Sheath with the slot for finger guard looks bogus. Mora ran out of ideas on that one.

  • @ronagoodwell2709
    @ronagoodwell2709 4 месяца назад

    Adding epoxy to the inside and around the finger guard is fine, but you should have left the handle alone. The red ochre finish looks nice and will look better over time with handling. A little oil once in a while would be good. Those old-style Mora classics are terrific little knives. I even like the finger guard though the literature says they are for children or novices.

    Nice to see the plastic sheath working for once. The wood handle knives without hand stop usually have pretty poor retention in those.

    No you aren’t happy with sanding. You should have started with 60-80 grit sand paper removing the red stained colour then finer grits to finish.

    After halving and retooling the mat, do not turn the valve back over, leave it in the exhaust mode, then when the bag is in the compression sack it will continue to expel air. when stored it will not pull in air and moisture into the pad.

    En primer lugar, sinceramente, creo que debería haber hecho otra funda para su cuchillo. Por otro lado tanto remache, finalmente, van a dañar el mango o la hoja del cuchillo. El remache posterior del mango es innecesario habiendo hecho una costura. En fin. Me parece un desperdicio de tiempo. Saludos.

    I've tried this, (after watching another video), and having a "step" where the handle meets the blade, causes me to stick the point of the knife into it, EVERY time I put the knife in,, 😭😱😭. I just thought you might do it differently,, but no.... 🤨

    Wish the Dark Earth came with those same stock scales, they look so good together. But yea, i really like the Desert Tan too, my Laser Strike is in DT and its my wife's favorite knife, and my second favorite ESEE. Definitely think you made the right decision gettin the E6 instead of the E5, *worlds* more practical, speaking as someone who's had/has both.

      I've had both the Gerber knives too, and the *Ultimate Pro* is *definitely well worth getting,* if you like the original. They fixed literally *all the problems* the original had, and made it *world's better,* its a keeper for me, even though I have way nicer knives.

    • @viciousKev
      @viciousKev 2 года назад

      The 6 is full flat ground so better for slicing, feathersticking etc but slightly less ridged and strong. Thinner, lighter weight, no dedicated glass breaker pommel.

    • @richroc7

      The 6 is somewhat superior as the 5 was designed for military operations but either will get the job done.

    Thanks for pointing out the obvious, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! I admit it; I freaked out when I received my new Comfort Plus mat and, in excitement, removed it from the packaging, immediately tossed the instructions to the side, rolled out the mat, opened the valve and watched the mat do absolutely nothing....at all. 20 minutes later I felt like I was watching paint dry...then 1 hr...then 1.5 hrs...So I watched some youtube videos of other's whose mats inflated in a few minutes!! And I concluded that something was wrong, "Its Defective! That's what it is! I'll have to return this!" Fortunately I saw your video which pointed me back to a piece of paper that came with my new mat called, "INSTRUCTIONS."... It's amazing what we can accomplish when we follow directions.
