This is okay but notice the the colours of the cold frosting and the not cold one not matching. I hate that. It is cool and all but in think it would prevent that from happening if it were lighter colors. Darker colours are just a different breed
TIP: make sure it is completely thawed before you decorate it. If it sweats, it can make the decorations run. You should see what black and red decorations look like on a white wedding cake when it sweats. Murder scene.😂😂😂
To each it's own. But that's alot more work and time for me. The true skills come from getting smooth side and sharp edges without fancy tools and gadgets

If you're working with butter cream, just freeze the cake layers and you don't have to crumbcoat it.

@@dbarnes66 I mean - watching the frost form videos - they look quicker to use! And you get 100% smooth coverage on the first go. They’re so expensive though 🙈😂
Don't you find chilled cake goes so dry though?
Actually the opposite. I sometimes wrap and freeze my cake layers almost right out of the oven, and it seals the moisture in really well. That said - if you chill/freeze cake without wrapping or frosting it first, it’ll dry out. Cake also tends to seem more dry if you eat it cold. Letting it come back to room temp has always fixed that for me though.

@@Iamleone18 it’s cream cheese buttercream - basically cream cheese frosting but with more butter in it. ☺️👍 Briefly, 8oz cream cheese + 2 sticks butter + 5-6 cups powdered sugar + vanilla. Adjust a bit thinner with milk or thicker with more powdered sugar as needed. More details - intensivecakeunit.com/favorite-cream-cheese-buttercream-recipe/

This seems like it takes more time… maybe less waiting time in the freezer, but I don’t think it’s necessarily more time efficient. Prettier maybe. Although I love frosting so the crumb coat and then the regular frosting is My style.

Working with cold cake makes everything faster and easier.
Some needle nose tweezers would probably grip the support straws pretty well for removal.

what are the supports for the lower tier for? cut they're cut even, like they're not connecting top to bottom
