The Russian Orthodox Church has officially rejected the bones of Maria and Alexei Romanov, the third daughter and son of the last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II. This decision was based on the results of a series of investigations conducted by the Russian government and the Church in 2007-2008, which aimed to determine the authenticity of the remains.
The bones were discovered in 1991 and were identified as the remains of the Romanovs through DNA testing. However, the Church had concerns about the authenticity of the bones and orde...

    Shame on the british royal family for not rescueing the Romanovs. Although horrible, at least it is shown, how brutal this "execution" was. It was a slaughter. R.I.P. Romanovs!

    • @dominikaspalkova963
      @dominikaspalkova963 11 месяцев назад

      It were only the bolsheviks who knew what is going to happen with the family. And they tried to find other ways of solving this problem, the execution wasn't the only a primary one. If they wanted to, they could throw a public execution in style of the French Revolution and would not have to wait for so long. But it was still the royal family - and Russians view any authority way differently than people in France. I guess the bolsheviks just wanted to get them out of Russia and make sure that no Romanov could ever claim the throne again. Nothing new when it comes to change of political order. But bolsheviks were under pressure. I come from Czech Republic, a part of former Czechoslovakia - I read somewhere that if the Czechoslovakian soldiers (though CS was not an existing country at that time, it was still a part of Austria-Hungary Monarchy) had been a bit quicker, they could have saved the Romanovs. They arrived at the place a month after the execution. The bolsheviks wanted to prevent this. That't just one part of the problem. Helping the Romanovs could have put British royal family in serious danger. You can't even imagine how chaotic the beginning of the 20th century was. Every little political detail was important. Socialists were everywhere and they meant a serious danger to both monarchies and republics. Helping Romanovs who represented everything the socialist fought against could start a revolution in the UK. Even if the Romanovs hadn't been invited to UK and had been sent somewhere else, the British Royal family would still have had to pay for it. And plus - the Russian Tzarina was German. And at the end of the war, public hated Germans and anything German. British Royal family even changed the name to Windsor because of that because they have a Sachsen (German) origin partly. Countries were falling like flies. At the end of the WW1, four great long lasting empires were destroyed - the Russian, the Austrian-Hungary, the Otoman and the Prussian (German). British Royal family just didn't want the UK to be another one. Not to mention that the situation in Russia was just Nicholases' fault. I'm not excusing the revolution and their murder, but Nicholas was a terrible leader. He absolutely didn't care about his people, he let them live in complete poverty while living in luxury. While the Western world was trying to accept the world is changing he pushed any try for a reform and thought that his people want to live like in medieval times or something. Russian empire was just meant to die. And because he didn't care and probably even didn't see it coming he just get what he deserved. So many people had to die, starve and fight in a foreign war - while he died (in comparison to other prisoners) kinda peacefully because as the Tzar he was dead imediatelly because everyone wanted to shoot the main villain.

He was lily-livered about it, too. Tried to make it look as though it was Parliament or suchlike, when in actuality, it was him. She was a rising 10 when he passed. Damn.

      To be fair, I understand his reasons. There was rising Anti-Monarch sentiment in Britain following the Russian Revolution. George V was concerned for the implication it would have not only on the institution of Monarchy but on his own family. If I had to make a decision which could ultimately decide the fate of my children and Grandchildren, I think (as callous as it sounds) I would have to be selfish. I'm sure he loved his cousins dearly but the cost to him if he continued to extend an invitation was huge. I think he made the only decision possible. He was in between a rock and a hard place.
