Thx for the helpful tutorial! I was able to fix my MX Master mouse, and it turned out to be the "Gesture Button" getting stuck and deactivating the cursor. I saved some money by doing this myself and didn't have to buy a new mouse. However, Logitech really needs to make some changes to this product. Great explanation!

If you turn the unit over you can push the old filter off using both thumbs. One either side of the handle.

You can pop the old back cover off by using both thumbs on the back of the cover while supporting the machine by the rest of the hands takes 2 seconds. The cap can drop on a pillow or be still partially on the unit.

That's because that thumb button rubber broke and does not have the resistance of "new" and is just stuck pressing the mechanical button on the board, ugh.

Mine had occassional double clicks on the left button. I used it for about a year, daily. Comparing the left and right sides, the left felt somewhat softer. I opened up the mouse just as shown on the video and took the plastic hat off from the micro switch. Between the contacts there were some dust. I straightened the metal part to make more spring force and put all back together. At firtst test, the left button now is harder to press than the right, and no noticable double clicks. I guess i need a week of usage to make a final verdict, but looks promising.

This fixed it for a while, but the issue came back... Now I just disabled the side button via logitech options

*Lösung für alle die keinen Sternschraubendreher haben:* Löst die anderen 4 Kreuzschrauben und löst den unteren Teil der Maus so weit wie möglich. Dann baut ihr die Maus wieder zusammen, aber ohne dass ihr diesen Hacken auf der linken Seite auch reindrückt. Der muss draußen bleiben und überlappen. Jetzt funktioniert die Maus und ihr könnt sie so lange benutzen bis Amazon den richtigen Schraubendreher liefert. Schreibt mir eure Dankesnachrichten gerne als Kommentar.

if anyone's doing this, you just have to twist the back cover clockwise a quarter turn to take it off.
