    You're great! Any chance you'd be willing to share an audio-only version of this? I'd love to cover the song vocally and yours is the best piano cover I've found. I'd be willing to pay if needed :)

    Any advice on working on the 2 against 3 rhythm? I KNOW how it should work, just having trouble convincing my hands and brain to do it!

    PIERRE It's dawned on me suddenly And for no obvious reason That I can't go on Living as I am The zest of life has vanished Only the skeleton remains Unexpectedly vile I used to be better CHORUS O Pierre! Our merry feasting crank Our most dear, most kind, most smart and eccentric A warm-hearted Russian of the old school His purse is always empty Cuz it's open to all O Pierre Just one of a hundred sad old men Living out their final days in Moscow PIERRE I drank too much Right now, my friend fights and bleeds And I sit at home and read Hours at a time Hours at my screen Anything, anything Abandoned to distraction In order to forget We waste our lives Drowning in wine I never thought that I'd end up like this I used to better And the women they all pity me Cuz I'm married But not in love Frozen at the center WOMEN Il est charmant; il n'a pas de sexe He is charming; he has no sex CHORUS O Pierre! Our merry feasting crank Our most dear, most kind, most smart and eccentric A warm-hearted Russian of the old school His purse is always empty Cuz it's open to all O Pierre Just one of a hundred sad old men Living out their final days in Moscow PIERRE There's a ringing in my head There's a sickness in the world And everyone knows But pretends that they don't see ?Oh, I'll sort it out later? But later never comes PIERRE & MEN And how many men before Good Russian men Believing in goodness and truth PIERRE Entered that door With all their teeth and hair And left it toothless and bald You empty and stupid Contented fellows Satisfied with your place I'm different from you I'm different from you I still want to do something Or do you struggle too? I pity you, I pity me, I pity you I pity you, I pity me, I pity you CHORUS Ah...

      I would LOVE to do that, once I enhance my skills well enough for improvising the third “is this how I die” Bridge and the building rhythm on “I want to wake up” chord progressions! At the moment I’m more focused on preparing to audition to transfer to a Cal State Fullerton’s music program, but I’ll definitely spare some time here in there working on Dust And Ashes, but only after I perform and record “The Great Comet of 1812” and “Pierre and Andrey” first. :)

      Steph Piano Actually, it started out with reading the sheet music from the songbook of the show, just so I understand what notes I'm supposed to strike on the piano. But gradually, overtime, as I countinue to practice my muscle memory, as well as continuously listen to the song on the soundtrack everyday, I start to develope my memory of the song itself to point where I wouldn't need to continuously read the sheet music anymore. So truth be told, and I'm NOWHERE bragging, I assure you, I did this video and the other three videos without reading the sheet music, as I have it all memorized. If you would like, though, I can post you the link to where you can get the songbook itself on Amazon. Thank you so much for your comment, it took me the WHOLE SUMMER to get these songs JUST RIGHT. xD

    Wow this is good! U should do Charming please please!

    • @michaelwilliamybarra2409
      @michaelwilliamybarra2409 7 лет назад

      Definitely. I must say, though, that I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to do it as soon as possible, since college is starting for me this Monday. Plus I'm working with a private instructor there, to practice other works for my audition/application to transfer to another school. Either way though, I have tried practicing "Charming" already, but I've only been able to fluently play the first few measures of the piece, so far. But, as soon as I have time to myself, and as soon as I'm able to make it through the piece at the same pace as the soundtrack(And, hopefully, be able to play along with the soundtrack, like with my other videos), I will post! Also, I feel that the piece is best heard with drumbeats(for the video without the soundtrack in the background, at least), so maybe I'll so a side video of me doing a makeshift cover with my hands(or better yet, find another person who plays the drums, willing to help me out), since I don't play drums, but at least have rhythm(Also, keep in mind that these are my first videos ever on youtube, so I'm all new to the whole experience, let alone learning how to make video edits, so...... Yeah.). Either way, Thank you so much for watching!!! :D

      Michael Ybarra Yeah I can only play the beginning of charming too haha but I'm nowhere near your level yet haha. The other one I really like is The ball but yeah the beginning sounds really complicated haha.

    • @michaelwilliamybarra2409
      @michaelwilliamybarra2409 7 лет назад

      Thank you for understanding. As for "The Ball", I'm not sure I'm yet to perfect my waltz technique to play that piece fluently myself, yet. :P Also, when you have the time, be sure to check out my other three videos too: Here's another video of me playing this song with the soundtrack playing in the background: ruclips.net/video/2_-0yoOhHfs/видео.html And here's my cover of the song "Pierre" ruclips.net/video/GqPwotvIpdQ/видео.html And lastly, here's the song "Pierre", played with the soundtrack: ruclips.net/video/3crl1ga3DAQ/видео.html Thank you, and be sure to subscribe Please. :)
