Instagram algorithm is controversial : I have an Instagram account with many million-view reels. I can confirm that "sends per reach" are important, but all my million-view reels had enormous share to story in the first few hours. I once posted a reel that I considered very ordinary, left the platform for one hour, and when came back I was amazed that my reel had 500k view in less that 2 hours! That reel got a total of 13 million views while I had much more interesting reels that didn't take off at all. To make it more confusing; there are pages that are posting exactly the same reel everyday, with no caption, no cover and in those account some of those cloned reels get millions of views and some get less than 10k views! How come a reel is so interesting that it gets millions of views and then for many days only a few thousands?!

I don't even think instagram should be even considered social media anymore, its more of a store than anything else. Everybody is trying to sell something. I don't see any real photographers recommended on my feed, since 2021.
