Modifying and refinishing a table top part 1
Просмотров 885 лет назад
Customer requested to have this table top cut down to a smaller size and have it refinished. This video details the resizing process and part 2 of the series will detail the refinishing process. The circle jig used is available from Rockler. The router bits used are available from Home Depot, they are Freud Diablo bits.
How to make wooden plugs
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.5 лет назад
Customer removed their hot tub and it left two 1 1/4" holes in the deck so they wanted 2 plugs to fill the holes. They initially wanted to borrow a hole saw to make the plugs but the saw makes a 1 1/4" hole but the plug left over is smaller due to the blade. So I opted to layout the right size plug on some cedar I had and cut them out on my bandsaw and sand them down to size.
Twin size house bed
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.5 лет назад
This project was a twin size house bed built for my daughter. It's made of construction grade lumber and it uses only Kreg pocket hole joinery. All the cuts were done on a miter saw except for the plywood mattress deck but that easily could be done with a circular saw making this an extremely DIY project anyone could tackle. I used Kilz primer on this project to prevent any knots from showing t...
American flag Concealed storage

This was a project done for a customer that had bought this American flag concealed box. He wanted to mount it into the wall and make it look like a framed picture with some hooks below. I left it unpainted so it can be color matched to the trim in his new home he's building. Once it's installed we'll upload some finished shots of it.

Dewalt DW734 Circuit breaker replacement
Took off the brake on mine and use as a polisher buffer
Thanks for this! The video identified the problem and a commenter noted that the guide bars could be taken out and cleaned one by one. It was quite easy to remove the housing and then remove, polish, lubricate and return the bars one by one.
Great Video. Thank you for taking the time to make this video
Which ever you like, they both look interesting
I Got one for free, found it in a dumpster....the H/L screws were turned All the way in, that's why it wouldn't run, Lol....The saw runs good for a few minutes and shuts off, cylinder looks perfect, dreading taking this thing apart, I hate working on top handles....they also take a Really small chain that apparently not many saws run anymore, but my Stihl dealer had one in stock.
Sounds like maybe a fuel delivery issue, as for the chain you can always upgrade the sprocket to run the more common chain size. It definitely is a small saw for sure. I ended up selling this one, too small for my needs.
Thanks for the video. Exact same problem as mine. After watching you I realised I could take out the four supporting bars individually without disturbing the lock mechanism or the gear system. This meant I wouldn’t have to spend time after reassembly checking and adjusting the parallelism of the planed cut. After cleaning and light rub with emery paper reassembled and it worked a treat. I used wd40 which can get sticky over time so will get some light lubricant. Once again thank you as you saved me a lot of headscratching and bad language..
Thanks, I can't wait to tackle mine now. I could of used it several times, but too busy to tear it apart to figure it out. Edit: there's another video that shows a much easier way.
For me it was wonderful good class
Which one has better suction though?
Definitely the DeWalt, even after all this time it’s my favorite shop vac in my shop
@@whitebrookwoodworking760 is it worth getting the 5.5 hp 12 gallon over the 5 hp 9 gallon? does the .5 really make enough of a difference? I just don’t want to have to pay more and deal with the more bulky tool if it’s unnecessary.
@@BigIIndo I’m not sure what the cost difference is but the 12 gallon is quite large, if you’re tight on shop space I’d say it’s not worth the larger size. I honestly though have never maxed it out before emptying it. I usually empty all my dust collection at once and it is typically only half full.
They dont sound that different to me.
@@jw4321 it’s a much more noticeable difference in person, I typically wear ear protection with the rigid running but with the desalt I don’t bother.
I just got one, but it's 120 volt... any comment?
120 volt? Standard household plug I’m guessing, same as 110v like the one I showed in the video. What kind of issues are you having with it?
If you want an even quieter vacuum check out the stihl line up but be prepared to pay
Thanks going to have a look right now..
No crap didnt even know they made them
Oh now you tell me after I bought the DEWALT one already lol
I need to make 2 boxes to put a 734 in for checked baggage on an airline. Can the base be removed easily? Can you tell me the exact measurements (LxWxH) of the base as well as the dimensions of the unit without the base? Thanks much
Maybe the lubricant has gummed up a little. Happened to me on something else that had close running fit parts. Sprayed wd40 for about a week, then heated up the parts with a heat gun. Cleaned everything and re lubed. You did a good job, thanks for sharing!
I'll bet youre happy that this is a once in a lifetime repair!
I can't understand why all of the good comments. Over 6 minutes in before a hint at dust collection and then what a poor effort. I'm sure there will still be dust flying around with such a small device.
You are a crack bro
Maybe a flashlight would’ve helped …?
Do you have a cut list or dimensions if doing this bed for a full size frame?
I don’t unfortunately, when I did this one I just took the mattress dimensions and built it off of that
Great video
*Works really **MyBest.Tools** well, and fits hand perfectly.*
Rigid is still a go to Vacum . Rugged , cheap , powerful and parts are at HOME Depot
I agree, I run 2 in my shop and they are great
Want difference in the two vacuum cleaner noises.
I do product reviews for Lowes and this was an item DeWalt sent me to try. Huge difference in sound levels between the two. Even more in person, I love the DeWalt vacuum.
@@whitebrookwoodworking760 so Dewalt is better no?
@@jorgea95 definitely, been running it for quite awhile now and I love it
@@whitebrookwoodworking760that’s good to know because I just got this vacuum for $40! The lady said it was never used but missing the hose, wheels and attachments. I bought it in the box and luckily I didn’t try it out when I met her at store bc when I got home I saw that the hose and everything was inside the vacuum she just never opened it up lol so nothing was missing after all! Only $40!

Mine has trouble going up! All chains and belts look fine. Don’t know what’s binding it up
Yeah seems like a common problem, I’m in the northeast and especially this time of year when it’s humid I tend to get a thin rust scaling on tools. Unfortunately taking the whole carriage off, oiling lightly and reinstalling my just be all yours needs.
Great video just fixed my titan sander it was the bearing too
Same thing is wrong with mine
Hopefully you got it fixed
@@whitebrookwoodworking760 Yes after watching this video i was able to get it all apart. I had to clean it pretty good. I bought it used and it looked like it was never cleaned. After I got all the plastic ogg i used a wire brush to get all the stuck saw dust out of any moving part. Then I hit all the threads and slide rails with some WD-40. Works like a champ now!
My 735 fell about three feet onto cement. It seems like it’s all fine, I’m just worried. The rods and body all seem fine. The only thing I see was a extremely slight bend in the base on a corner. Do you think that drop could compromise the accuracy or level
I think as long as the bed is flat and it’s leaving a flat surface that’s parallel to the bed when you run material through it. Just run the lift through a full up and down cycle to make sure it moves correctly and doesn’t bind. Check the drive belts ( if it has a belt like the 734) and make sure nothing is cracked. You just don’t want to fire it up and have it self destruct
Next time call DeWalt supprt; seems like a lot of damage occurred during this "fix".
Actually ran it last night with a bunch of black walnut and it ran great. At this point I’ll run it until it gives up the ghost and switch to something heavier duty.
DeWalt "support" isn't. They have no answers, rather they want you to take it to an authorized repair shop.
Great job.
Nice job! I have found that my Ryobi table saw binds up also, but only in the cold weather.. So I find my self dis-assembling it every winter for cleaning..
fixed my sander also it also had a seized bearing thanks
Thanks buddy. I just needed the wire placement. I got mines running. :)
ryobi junk. buy a new one for $20
I agree, I got this one as a gift quite a while ago so I didn’t mind pulling it apart. I’ve since bought a DeWalt and it’s much better quality
Good info! Enjoyed the video. I’ve resurrected more then one sealed bearing by removing the rubber seal with a spring hook, cleaning it out and repacking/reinstalling the seal. Some bearings can be very pricey.
I was hoping you were going to pop the old bearing out of the assembly cap so I can see how it's done. My bearing has shattered and I need to get the outer race of the bearing out of the assembly cap but I can't find a video on how to do it.
I have a brand new Milwaukee random orbit that pulls in random directions WAY more than my old one. Is this common or is this because I should used a lower grit to start? I feel like the pull is more than someone is willing to tolerate
Could be a number of things, either a too aggressive grit sandpaper, too much pressure on the sander( don’t push down so hard and let the tool do the work) or there’s a seized bearing inside (less likely but you never know). Start with a higher grit and don’t push down on the sander, just guide it.
Do you tighten the center screw until the fan doesn't move?
No, that center screw screws into that fan to hold the bearing and mounting plate for the pad. The screw should be pretty tight but don’t overdo it because the fan is just cast aluminum and can strip. If the fan isn’t moving you have an entirely different issue.
Exactly my problem , thanks for the video
I bought same milwaukee sander 2nd hand and had same problem with excessive spin on startup. The problem was the previous owner used it to sand drywall and clogged bearings etc. Solution...Open the sander using compressed air to clean and couple drops of mineral oil on bearings will free them up.
I’m definitely making that a regular habit of cleaning them out with air.
Simple but effective, bravo. I wonder if a bit of bell-shaped flare might capture even a little more dust.
It definitely would, the problem is that on the right side of the blade dewalt put a stop so you don’t plunge the saw down too far. This gets in the way of flaring out the chute too far.
Is this a common problem? I just bought this planer for $50 listed as parts. Missing the switch, power cord, blades, brushes and brush caps. Hoping it’s something this simple.
Honestly I’ve used my planer quite a bit since I did this repair and haven’t had an issue since.$50 is a great price, order the replacement parts from the site I listed and you should be good 👍
I am very impressed. Great work.
Thanks! I need to make a new video revisiting this, it works good but needs some tweaks. Thanks for watching!
I have checked many woodworking plan sites. I think the instructions from Woodprix are the best.
I watch only your hands.
Hopefully you start making videos again.
Yeah I’ve been slacking, working on a big order now, check my Instagram for regular content
I have the same issues. Just got a new shop with a window, now I have the saw located to just blow the dust straight out the window lol. Subscribed! 🔥
Bat City Designs that definitely works, my setup is working good, it doesn’t get everything but it certainly isn’t covering everything with sawdust like it used to
Thanks for the subscribe!
Build the box, no brainer 👍
Nice work. Do you know what company your customer bought that American Flag Concealment box from? I like that one because it looks slimmer than most that I see out there.
He got it from Amazon, the seller was Display Gifts Inc. I believe it's retailing for 46.95
@@whitebrookwoodworking760 thank you, appreciate it.
Nice job! I have a Craftsman saw, similar in appearance, with the same problem. Maybe this will work for me.
Good save!
Very nice job! I watched the first part and wondered how it would come out. Your customer should be pleased!
