Vintage Skateboard Restoration
1980's Skateboard Restoration #skateboarding #1980s #vintage #thrasher #independenttrucks #gleamingthecube #sanding #machining #lathe #college #restoration #late90s #1985

This board was ultimately useless besides the trucks so I decided to restore it from everything I had available at the pad.
Note: OG bolt pattern with those indy's and deck.
It probably took more work than buying a new deck the wheels on the other hand were brought back to life.
And this quarantine caused this 😂😂😂

I almost cried when you covered the winged PP logo back up. Nice job. I have a Lance Mountain deck from about 1986 thats in pretty bad shape. Separation around the ends. I plan to restore it and your video gave me some confidence. Thanks!

Great vid. I've just done a very similar project, same shape, kryptonic wheels that look similar, in black. However I didn't have the time to go as thorough as you. Loved it!

Yes would’ve been nice to leave some of the old vintage look to give it some memorabilia!

Great job, but that logo was so well preserved I can't believe it's covered with the grip tape again!

can not believe what you did to the wheels.original yoyo`s from the golden age of skateboarding destroyed.you should have sold these in their original state (worth around $130)and buy new ones instead.funny idea but sadly not smart.

My machinist friend does this to all his wheels to take out flat spots. It’s no big deal.

I'd never repaint an original Powell. only a transparent over that blue aniline was fine....

I don't think that blue was original paint. I would have sanded it and left it woodgrain though. Maybe put a big OJ or something sticker in the middle.
