The Grapes on Narrow street is a lovely old pub, not far from the Prospect. Dickens used to visit the Grapes and it was bought a few years back by Sir Ian McKellen as he’s lived in the area since the early 80’s. Also visit the Ye Olde Mitre pub in Hatton Garden.
I meant to stop by the grapes to see gandalfs staff but forgot. Ye olde mitre was closed as was Cheshire cheese

Cheshire Cheese is the only pre-fire pub in City of London, I believe. Prospect is a long way out really.
It is but was rebuilt in 1666 due to the fire. The site it was on was an old monastery but as a pub its only been operational since 1538 so the whitby beats it by 18 years.
Would recommend The Old Cheshire Cheese (Fleet Street), The George Inn (off Borough High Street in Southwark - one of if not the only surviving gallery inns) and The Lamb and Flag (The Bucket of Blood)
So i originally planned 3 pubs, Cheshire cheese was on it. But was closed until new year. Same with the other one. So LUCKILY the oldest one was open. Thanks for watching
It's debatable just how old The* Old Fighting Cocks is in St Albans - but It's a great pub, and the food is pretty good as well (good to see them open again after they were closed for some time). btw Ye = The, it was never pronounced Ye

Both fish and chips look frozen, London is the last place to get proper British Fish and Chips from.

I dont disagree. Theres a third at the end that isnt in a tourist area. Its on the islington camden area. I just did a google search and checked the most and highest rated.
You should have gone to a chippy rather than going to a sit down place. You would have got enough to food to feed about 3 because they give you big portions. That was a very meagre portion for what you probably paid.
We went to one chippy in the video. I basically googled fish and chips and highest rating and got the first two. Ive had fish and chips in a pub and chip shop as big as my arm. But of course theres 100’s in london so i went based on amount of stars and number of reviews.
