So you're assuming that soccer players are only proficient at kicking a certain way in order to score a goal when in reality they're good at every sort of kick you can think of. Also many kickers have already proven that a football can be kicked a long ways, with accuracy, with the instep of the foot, like a soccer player so there really isn't one "right" way to kick a football. And the fact that pretty much every NFL kicker grew up playing soccer pretty much proves that the transition is really not that hard. Amateurs that have never even sniffed any sort of professional soccer before have been able to become proficient NFL kickers. Younghoe Koo and Cairo Santos are two contemporary examples of this.

Hey all. So I'm a punter for my sophomore team and I haven't really thought of kicking much because my buddy does that. He's prone to ankle injuries, so I think it would be a good idea for me to learn just in the event he can't kick. I'm worried that trying the kicking form will mess with my form for punting. Anyone got any tips?

Yo, had a question. I'm 13, and i was consistent for while with my kicks. Easily making 16 yders. My best kick was 25 and that hit the crossbar. From 24 it would have probably been good though. Anyways i stopped kicking for a while and my form is terrible and i can't kick the ball for nothing. Any tips to get me going again?

Okay so I’m 12 and I want to make my highschool team next year as a kicker. I can hit 40 yarders about 80% of the time and I can hit anything under 35 every time basically the furthest I hit was 50 so that’s above what a grade 8 kicker needs to do right??
