Funky 'Lectric Piano Jam
Просмотров 3257 месяцев назад
This is just a very basic Jam with the Korg Nautilus using a homemade "Combination" with two electric pianos, synth bass electric bass and a simple 4-bar drum track. The chord I hit at 00:30 was not intended due to its more "Major" chord sound .... but hey, that is what happens with improvisation; you never know when you'll miss a note or play some chord that doesn't quite fit. For those of you...
Piano Boogie
Просмотров 2208 месяцев назад
This is a short 30 second example of how you can use an expanded blues scale to create a more colorful range of tones for your piano explorations. Scales that use a major third are considered happy, upbeat, and positive, but scales with a minor third are darker and moodier. Other scales such as Lydian, Phrygian or Locrian are used to create a sense of wonder, mystery, or fear. In addition to th...
PIANO improv Spring '24
Просмотров 3018 месяцев назад
This is a quick (under 3 minutes) piano improvisation using the Korg Nautilus. I created this piano sound by combing two pianos; the Italian Bright and the German Deep. The improvisation itself is a simplistic mashup of styles that highlights some RH melodic phrases using octaves. The LH is not doing anything special, just anchoring the chords and keeping some rhythm. I use some suspended chord...
ATTENTION Keyboard Shredders Try this Descending Pentatonic Riff Today !!
Просмотров 6719 месяцев назад
This is a super cool riff that can be used with Electric Piano, Organ, Synth, etc. This riff uses a four-note overlapping pattern that descends within a minor pentatonic scale. The tutorial highlights two of the rhythmic styles that can be used, but there are many other rhythmic styles that can be applied to this pattern.
The Ultimate Mode for Rock 'n Roll
Просмотров 51510 месяцев назад
The Mixolydian Mode / Scale is a perfect Rock'n Roll "playground" for Jamming and Writing. Classic progressions will sound better than ever in this amazing mode - - all because of the flatted 7th. The always dependable I-IV-V becomes I-IV-v. And with this mode you can rock out with I - VII - IV - v. I'll cover more of the possibilities in a later video, but this should at least introduce you to...

Good job but how about woolly bully watch it now 😮
Nice
thank you
Damn, that was fire! What vst is it?
If you're referring to the lead sound, it's all Roland: distorted guitar samples from the Juno DS and the XV5050. Admittedly, I have made some major adjustments to the effects and patch parameters. The pitch bending is set for a whole step UP and an octave DOWN (to emulate a whammy bar).
@jimprovmusic Thank-you for information) keep rocking man)
Keith Emerson: Let me help you * rape the organ *
Dude- how is it I never thought of just doing the slide on the *black* keys?? So smooth! Some really nice useful riffs off that initial Frankenstein motif. Great takeaway value here, thanks so much! 👍🏼
This deserve a million likes 👍👍👍👍👍 Thank you for sharing your Amazing talent ❤
Great job but how about wooly bully watch it now 😮
Great! Too short, want more!😊
A little “Peanuts”vibe. Cool
Thank you
That rocks. Cool!
Rocks. I'm not really a keys player but off to give this a go!
Let me know how it goes - I have some practice ideas if you're interested.
Hello, fantastic played and beautyful Sound of your Hammond Sound!!! Have a nice weekend!!! Best Regards,José Movilandia 😎💥👍👍👍
Thank You Jose
Cool!
What sound did you use for that lead?
That lead sound is something I created - it has several elements; 2 or 3 simple synth patches with a fair amount of porto, lots of delay (courtesy of the internal Juno EFX) and the use of intervals (played, not programmed).
Hello, fantastic played and beautyful Sound of your piano my friend! Have a nice Sunday evening! Best Regards from Barcelona! Jose Movilandia 😎💥👍👍👍
Thank You !
Very Nice. Really enjoyed. Kind of had a little Steely Dan feel to it.
Really well done ! Thank you.

a hellou from mexico excellent
Thanks for the great lick!
kick out the jams
Clear and good! 🤘
Love It.
Bill - Thanks !
playing Deep Purple wouldn t be too bad with that set up sound ! I have a 1979 Korg BX3 with a reverb, a EQ and a lesley pedal wich my friend say it s the best i can have ! i just wish i had more power better speakers and amp ! I don t play much cuz i don t know much ! but i love the sound ! lol ! 😎
That BX3 is similar to my old CX3 that had drawbars and waterfall keys....wish I'd held onto it, but the Nautilus does a fairly good job of implementing that sound. You might try using an outboard distortion / overdrive pedal and play around with the combination. Whatever you do, just crank it up and have fun.
Excellent!!!
Thanks for checking it out.
great
Another great video. Thanks Jim. The boys are just adorable. I remember when my grandson's were that age. (Now about to graduate college).Time fly's and teach them well.
Bill - True words indeed.
Wonderful lesson! But please! When there is too much light, photographers call it overexposure! The white keys completely merge into one spot! This is mistake! Less light lick!
Yes - you are correct !! I think I've solved that problem in my more recent videos.
Great stuff - Love it!
Great guitar sound 👍🙂🎹🎶
Thank You !
Jim, you know, how to play, but you know also, how to teach! GREAT - and many thanks!
Those are very kind words T.W. !! Thanks.
Great Lesson Jim. Look forward to the new Blues Rock Series. You must have been blessed as a child to have a really Great Piano Teacher. And I agree, we are always trying to learn something new. Thanks Again.
Bill - you and I and all the rest of our "Rock Keyboard Tribe" love this stuff for all the right reasons, and that's all I'm really doing here; just geeking out, and being a passionate nerd. Stay tuned...more good stuff up ahead.
You are a fantastic keyboard instructor!!! I’ve been playing keyboards for over 50 years and I’m picking up some great tips from your videos. We never stop learning. Looking forward to future releases. Thank you!
Yes, true words from you; we never stop learning because that's the most fun part about this adventure. I could do a weekly video about all the new stuff that i learn...seriously. Thank you for discovering my channel !
You are an excellent keyboard instructor!!! Thank you for your work and sharing your knowledge.
Thank you very much, sir ! I m planing on mastering these runs ! I m just a beginner but i got a good ear just not a good memory ! lol ! 🧐
Hah - yes, my ear is also way better than my memory at this point (age 65). Keep Rocking !!
Amazing video! I have to try the whammy bar two octave pitch shift down on my Korg Nautilus.
Robbie - Thanks for checking out my pitch bend tutorial. please let me know if you have any trouble with the 2 octave whammy setting on the Nautilus and I will provide some detail on that.
Nice!!! ❤
We need the air view! This was amazing.
Super playing
Thank you, and please let me know what you'd like to see more of. I'm about to do several videos on Blues-Rock Piano licks & runs. Stay Tuned.
Great!
I’ve got a Juno DS as well and some of the best distorted guitar sounds are on it. I haven’t found any other keyboard that has as many metal or hard rock sounding guitar presets as the Juno. I’ve used the DS in a lot of of my songs.
Roland has great GTR samples and equally great effects to add just the right amount of Distortion and Overdrive.
Great as always!
Thanks ! More to come - Blues Piano, LH Bass patterns...
