The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag by our principal, followed by the singing of the national anthem. The entire school was decorated ...

Responsibility might be a bit too strong of a word
In the book titled _Slender Was The Thread_ by Lieutenant General Lionel Protip 'Bogey' Sen, it is recounted how Lord Mountbatten and Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck were regarded by their other British colleagues as outcasts. Which is why, though Auchinleck was the Supreme Commander of the Supreme Headquarters formed for the division of assets between India and Pakistan, he was in the dark, as was Mountbatten, about the tribal raiders from Pakistan backed by the Pakistan army attempting to sack Kashmir. Be it known that the Supreme Headquarters was stocked entirely by British officers in the interests of impartiality. Surely, the C-in-C of the Pakistan army, General Sir Frank Messervey, _"would not have been swayed by Jinnah's animosity towards Lord Mountbatten so far as to withhold from him such vital information as Pakistan's intention to take Kashmir by force. They must have been fully alive to the fact that it would place Lord Mountbatten in a most invidious position if, as the Governor General of India and even more as the creator and pilot of the Mountbatten Plan, he knew nothing about it."_ (Quote from Lt. Gen. Sen's book). Lt. Gen. Sen concludes that their willingness to keep Lord Mountbatten in the dark was evidence enough of the fact that fellow British considered him an outcast. That he was rather pro-India for their taste is also confirmed in the memoirs of Lt. Gen. S.K. Sinha.
LOL , whole partition and Future of India was Well planned in LONDON much ahead than 1947. All the books and record available in Public is to fool Indians. Brits Wanted Outpost in NW of india , which can contain india and USSR and THey finally got it.
