Bonjour, quelle est la ligne d'échappement ?
Check engine light on normal?
im having issues with forge bov, its not whoosing as it should, any ideas?
Where u from
Hey man just watched this wanted to say she sounds super clean and aggressive really nice build, but was also curious how you got your heat shield on with the stock mini plastic guard? I just installed my aem intake but was having trouble getting that shield on until it got dark and cold and I gave up for the night.
What is the apprx. horsepower you get? Did you measure your 100km/h-200km/h times?
Sick man, where did you get the air intake from? /how much did you pay?
did you have to make any tweaks to get this to work? I have not been successful with anything but a traxxas ESC.
Excuse me, ess is used on Tandem rc, how to install it, can you please teach me?? Thank you
Lawl
How do u have an n18 in a 2011 car??
Just wanted to if you still have this car? If so, any issues with reliability with all those mods?
loving it. the straight pipe sounds amazing. hows the drone on the highway? I've got a 09 r56 and I'm looking at exhaust options so i can hit stage 2
I just went catless with the stock exhaust with the 2nd cat deleted as well, and I have yet to experience any drone up to 80 mph, I have a clubman s and it is supper raspy
So my plan is get a down pipe for my car with a k&n cold air intake with a redline 360 front mount inter cooler and possibly a stage 2 tune either with manic or a m7 tune. Sounds like a good setup? also driving a 6 speed manual 2012 countryman cooper s All4 (R60)
This is a mean build. Idk if it’s still around. But that’s one bad ass build
Hey bro I have an n18 just brought a AEM induction kit the heatshield doesn't seem to fit as it sits on the rocket cover. How did you manage to fit yours think it was designed for the n14
They make intakes specifically for the n14 as well as the n18 I believe
To add to this, my filter keeps slipping off wondering if I’m fitting it right N18
how is driving is bad weather(snow&heavy rain) with the ram air scoop?
nice MINI! have you had any issues with the turbo heat shield?
No issues other than it was a pain to install mostly because it's meant to fit an older style N18 motor that has a slightly different plastic top cover shape. I can't remember how I got it on there but it required a little bit of finesse to line up the bolts.
Nice setup, the AEM heat shield not fit with the engine cover on, how do you make it fit?
Paul Helden I’m also looking to know how he did that. Longer screws maybe?
@@jaredpeters950 I just fix it like that, longer bolts
I honestly don't remember, it's been a while and the mini has since moved on. I recall that it took a slightly longer bolt but aligning it was a bit of a pain but once it threaded I never wanted to touch it again lol
My r58 has all of this
How is fuel consumption offer tuning stag 2 !?
No noticeable difference tbh
Sounds good, how is it running today?
Runs like a top. In fact it's recently gone tripped 2000 miles round-trip twice (so 4k) in 2 months without any issues. It's been about 25k miles since these upgrades and I've had zero issues.
Whats the modification list mate? Sorry to bother u
Last I checked mod list was in the description :D
Check engine light from the Intake?
Manic tune removed CIL for intake and downpipe related codes. If there's a CIL in the vid (don't recall there being one) it wasn't related to the tune or mods, I think it was maintenance or TPMS sensor related.
does the heatshield cause problems for the plastic parts underneath ?
There really isn't any plastic underneath. Underneath is the turbo itself and the original heat shield for the catalytic converter (now just straight downpipe). The only plastic thing touching it is part of that engine cover and it's fine.
I just installed one of these but the top cover doesn’t fit well on mine, did you alter it by any chance? I have an N18 engine like yours, have you had any problems with heat from the heat shield? I’ve heard people had top covers melting because of the Aem heat shield..
I have an 2011 R56 but my radio/odometer doesn't look like that. Did you replace it
It's the OEM NAV package.
Hello, great video. I'm new to mini and I just got a mini 2013 cooper s. I was thinking of doing a mode 2 on it. Question on the AEM ram air, I notice some folks say that the heat from the turbo will heat up the air. How's the heat shield? does it really work on keeping the air cool or is it best getting a turbo blanket instead of using AEM heat shield?
I ended up wrapping the intake on the hood with heat reflective tape and between the shield and the tape it seems fine. When the car is moving the air is consumed pretty quickly so the heat soak is minimal. Compared to an intake that pulls air only from around it in the engine bay I would say it's still better. I won't say it's night and say better but definitely better especially during cooler weather months like right now. I would say a turbo blanket may be just as fine as a heat shield but I never looked into it myself.
@@suchtragedy Thanks for your input.
..automatic
This car is a daily and goes through heavy city, stop and go traffic with plenty of hills. My lady would rather preserve her ankle and I'd rather not be replacing clutches :D
So what's the point of a cold air or ram intake if the turbo is going to make the air hotter than ambient?
With the AEM hear shield along with wrapping the intake on the hood with heat reflective tape (added later) it seems to be decently effective at keeping air cool. At speed it's consuming air faster than the heat from the turbo can heat it as it passes through the intake.
@@suchtragedy Have you actually tested the air temp past the intercooler?
What is your head unit with the digital display?
That's the OEM navigation head unit
You should ad a "Wide-mouth" Carbon fiber Scoop. I did that an cut of the "metal-lip" which was blocking the free Airflow passage....HUGE improvement....and I can strongly recommend to install an Oil-catcher so you can get rid of the hot and oily air from the Valvecover. That also will prevent sticky carbon-build up in the intake ports. But you got yourself one fast little bastard...I like it 👍🏻🛠.
For me personally the first thing you should change on any car for better performance is big pot brakes and coilovers. people always say but I just want it to go faster, but believe me, brakes and suspension make one of the biggest differences to driving fast.
Agreed, got Wilwoods on all 4s now. I should get coilovers sooner or later but since it's my lady's car it tends to get love after I work on my other stuff.
These minis really do handle so damn well. I want a little more power but increasing grip and maneuverability is what I really want.
Mo POWAH BABEEE
how much power @ the wheel did you make with that setup?
Never got it on a dyno, but Manic advertises 30 to 50hp over stock depending on mods for their stage 2 flash. You provide a list of mods (more specific if you can) and they flash based on that.
@@suchtragedy Hey, any contact for Manic?
@@quest4019 It appears the company was dissolved last year. find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08182550
Where’s the oil catch cans man?
Added later. Also had to plug PCV on back side of the head to make the catch can effective.
bye bye turbo.
Two questions... How do you like your quick jack? And what light do you have attached to your hood for engine work?
Jerald Haddox Quick Jack is the 2nd best garage purchase after my 72 inch harbor freight tool box. It's a major difference maker when it comes to working on things and well worth the money. The light is an underhood light that is extendable and latches to the hood and is cordless with internal lithium batteries. There are various ones all over but the one I got is made by ATD Tools model 80355. The way its made also makes it easy to set up under the car as well.
Mike W. Awesome thanks for the reply! I need to pick up a quick jack, Ramps aren’t doing it anymore so I’m gonna have to pick that up. I’m hope it jacks it up higher than the ramps do.
Mike W. Do the quick jack give you plenty of room to work underneath? I’m not a small guy 6’3” and I’m trying to end up doing most of the maintenance on my Mini
Jerald Haddox absolutely. Lifts around 2 feet off the ground. I'm a big guy too and I can still get underneath easily and actually still move my arms around easily and have things more than 6 inches from my face using a creeper as well. None of my jacks or ramps can raise the car as high as this lift jack can.
What you did for the poping sound I have the same exhaust?
Carlos Juarez car pops in sport mode with the mods listed on manic stage 2 tune
Mike W. Ok u did the tune! Cool cool
Mine makes this sound stock. Did you find out what causes this?
Jeff Colby found a boost leak.
@@suchtragedy Where IT was this boost leak?
@@costelariton9864 I have a Forge after market blow off and it was leaking there. Added an O ring and fixed.
@@suchtragedy those come with o-rings. Did you just get a new o-ring? Still have the car? How is it running?
How were you able to install the heatshield over top of the motor head cover? (If that what it's called, the thing that says mini on it). Mine won't fit. Did your guys dremel it out or did you get longer spacers? I have the same kit and in the last pic in the instructions it says to leave it off. But I want it on. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
ryontherocks I actually don't remember. I know it was a bitch and I think I had to get creative with some stuff from my junk nuts and bolts bin. Issue with it sitting flush all the way down with the stock cover in place. When I remember I'll try to take it apart to look and see if I can jog my memory.
Mike W. Thanks. I still haven't got it yet.
Any problem with the manic tune so far ? Thanks
GamerBros 645 nope, still going strong. I will note that I opted for the SPS switch when I bought the tune and have it at the 50% threshold. The stage 2 tune at full boost seemed a bit excessive for the stock turbo.
bye turbo
Too bad it's an automatic

Any trouble during hard rainy/snowy days?
No issues at all with rain. Never driven it in snow, I garage it in winter.
Whats the resonator delete pipe on the left hand side called? Not the one going to the intercooler. Great vids by the way, subscribed.
It's called a boost pipe, basically what I bought: www.ebay.com/itm/For-Mini-Cooper-S-1-6T-R56-R60-JCW-Boost-Pipe-Air-Charge-Pipe-Kit-SG71349-/401158119939?hash=item5d66e32203
Thanks for your reply. Just another question if I may; I'm thinking of getting the CNT exhaust, did you get a resonated downpipe or just the pipe. How is the noise on the highway, any drone?
Also, did you get pops and bangs from Manic?
The CNT kit has a resonator but it's still pretty loud. There's no drone except a little while in Sport mode at cruising speed only. I did not get BBQ mode from Manic but surprisingly it still has pops and bangs in sport mode when you come off throttle so it works out perfectly :)
