It’s a beautiful quiet place to camp at my husband and I go at least three times a year if not more, but it has horrible cell service even with a data booster, so be prepared if you need to work this is not the place to go!

Thank you show much for this video walk-thru. We will be TENT camping at site 42 next month and I'm a bit worried about the site pad flooding (as others have also warned in videos). My kids always look forward to hanging a hammock, but I read that we are not allowing to hang anything from the trees to that's a massive bummer. Any yes, as a Florida local ... there ARE alligators lurking beneath the surface of that lake. I don't even go near the edge of the water because I live on a canal (in Palm Beach, FL) so I see them all the time at dusk. This will be our first time camping in a state park - we prefer privately owned because the "rules" are more relaxed - like hanging battery-lights at night or hammocks during the day.

Great video. Thanks you. Yes. As a local, please do not swim in any lake in Florida. People have been attacked and killed by alligators. The predators rest at the bottom of the water, so you can't see them. Trust me, they will attack if provoked. Just leave them alone and they will leave you alone. Also, Florida has very venomous snakes. The Florida moccasin and the Eastern moccasin both live in bodies of water in Florida. Their venom is lethal. Also, dangerous flesh eating amoebas and the potential of getting digestive worms. Just don't swim in the lakes and you will be fine. Just watch out for mosquitos and ticks which can carry disease on land. Oh yeah, don't forget Florida is the lightning capital of the US. So be carful when storm clouds come around. Make sure to check and make sure a hurricane, with 150 mph winds, the size of the state, isnt coming either. Oh yeah, Orlando is one of the top human trafficking cities in the US, so watch your kids. Real bad Gangs. Bloods, crips, Latin kings, kkk, ms13, sur 13, Dixie mafia, bonano crime fam, Cali cartel, Miami boys. Make sure to stay off I-4 too. Death trap. Anyways, enjoy your vacation to Florida.

i spent a lot of my late teens and early twenties fishing and swimming in that river . just gotta pick the right spot . snakes , alligator snapping turtles , alligators . . . they generally avoided the noisy places where we swam . we also had a small john boat and we " disc " skied on the With. as well . kinda like wake boarding but on a round plywood disc . lots of fun

I too grew up swimming and boating on the withlacoochie, and there are TONS of gators!

Tthis native Floridian will tell you they are there even if you cant see them. Enjoy the waters jusst be aware.
