For over 35 years, Ina Lee studied with Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, a teacher of meditation and the traditions of the East Indian Chishti Order of Sufism.
His date of birth: June 19 (6th month) 1916. The numerical sum of these numbers is 33. He died on June 17, 2004, the sum of which is 11.

Fascinating to hear Pir Vilayat speak of the Magi as one of the pre Islamic sources of Sufism. What an extraordinary teacher and mystic he was. His son Pir Zia continues to carry the torch of Light and Love for future generations.

I met the Pir for lunch at our Sufi house in Boulder, CO and he was doing talks and meditation sessions, Wonderful Being!!! I at 17 years old saw him with my teacher come out of his room after sleeping in the morning and he said this, pointing at his at the body, is my space suit for planet Earth, Haha
it's really nice to be able to hear from him though he left his body a few years back. very nice. greatly appreciated.

Haha, shocking statement. Have you ever met him? (I have: a humble, and graceful man who takes to heart his renowned father's work, from my impression, and from the modest Sufi meditation center in New York. Are there verifiable unethical practices he was involved in?

My wife and I studied with PVIK from 1983 until his passing. His father, Hazrat Inayat Khan and late Sister, Noor, are notable historically significant figures.He was a graduate of both Oxford and the Sorbonne. All three are published authors as is Zia, his son and current director of the Inayati Order.. PVIK was at Normandy beach during the WWII invasion and survived the destruction of his mine sweeper.As a journalist he exposed France’s atrocities during the Algerian war of independence.There.are many charlatans and hypocrites among religious and spiritual assemblies. Pir Viliyat was one of the ‘real ones’ and upheld Sufi principles and lived his ideals.
