Does SERRAPEPTASE decreases the over accumulated alpha synuclein protein? Does Presence of that protein causes excessive sleep?

Very well-done presentation. Animal proteins are the only source of alpha-synuclein (A-SYN) in the human diet. Plant foods do not contain A-SYN as it is only made by vertebrate animals such as cows, pigs, sheep, fish, and poultry and it is also found in eggs and dairy. Most of the misfolding of the A-SYN proteins happens in the gut during digestion, though the proteins may also be damaged (misfolded) during the processing and heat (cooking) of animal-sourced foods. 2017 Study: Vertebrate food products as a potential source of prion-like α-synuclein I am not sure why there is not more focus and education on the dietary source of alpha-synuclein, other than telling people the actual dietary cause of PD is simply not as profitable as the treatment (and drugs) after the disease has already developed. Not only are animal proteins the only source of A-SYN, dietary polyphenols, which are made by plants, (and algae and fungi) not animals, have been shown to inhibit the detrimental effects of A-SYN: 2024 Study: Gut-Brain Axis in Focus: Polyphenols, Microbiota, and Their Influence on α-Synuclein in Parkinson’s Disease

my mother was diagnosed with parkinson's in 2016, but her muscular rigidity and weakness, which started on her left arm, began as early as 2013. it wasn't until a few months into her levodopa therapy in 2016 that she started acting out her dreams. her rem sleep disorder has gotten so much worse now that i myself lose sleep and have probably developed insomnia from frequent awakenings in the middle of the night because of her symptoms.

I am 66 years old, I've had RBD for at least 28 years. It's never caused a big problem and it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I have no signs of PD or LB. I have never been on antidepressant drugs and never had a brain injury. Is there other causes of RBD? What percent doesn't lead to neurodegenerative disease?

I would like to know how to find a doctor in my area that knows RBD and how to treat it. My spouse is crazy at night and my life is full of anxiety because of it. He uses the common pill for restless leg syndrome, PRAMIPEXOLE. This has helped significantly and has allowed me to be able to sleep in the same bed with him, though it's not perfect.

It sounds like RBD should just be considered an early symptom of neurodegenerative disease (PD & LBD in particular). People who have it and don't go on to develop these conditions at some point in the future seem to be the exception rather than the rule. If you include things like Alzheimer's, ALS & prion diseases like CJD I bet the numbers are near 0 by the time of death (if they don't die of something else first). Super scary.

It appears I do too.Ive had all the symptoms and was in the hospital here in Canada🇨🇦 2 yrs ago for a related stay (Seratonin syndrome) caused by GP misperscribing anti-deppresant medication.I informed them I highly suspected RBD and even had 3 episodes in one night(The last one recorded by the camera above me). That was about my yearly total until then.It proved to be a reaction to a drug called something like LABUTRIN (A grey/white capsule.I written the word many times but my memory is going in certain areas)That many other patients were on as they seem to be handing it out like candy in hospitals and even jail I am told for its sedative quality's.Still they seemed unconcerned about RBD and accused me of partially "faking"the one recorded and the next day triple the amount of this drug was in my medicine cup?! Of course I got myself checked out immediately and soon suffered more side effects that had me unable to lift my feet to walk properly. That passed in a couple weeks time and I think I'm back to the usual yearly total again.I have learned most medical personal doctors and nurses don't seem aware or all that concerned about people like us.They know something's happening of what they call SLEEP PARASOMNIAS but if this may developed in PARKINGTONS I'm only 58 and in good physical health and am considering being a guinnie pig if that's what it takes.I tried the CLONAZAPAM route more than once but it is a BENZODIAZAPAM meaning just a small variation from VALIUM so it should take away enough REM activity to give ya some instant peace if ya need it.But it's very addictive and habit forming so if you find it shuts down other functions you have to keep growing through the withdrawals and then later you need it again. So it will ying\yang ya to use an old adage .So there is quick relief if that's where your at,tell your doctor to prescribe or go to the local ghetto where you live and get CLONAZAPAM or any BENZODIAZAPAM if that's not available. And remember I'm giving you this advice becouse I know what it's like to fight battles with other people\animals\monsters in my sleep and have awakened up bruised, objects thrown about my room, and even hitting the floor in an attempt to elude in my dreams.Sure makes ya feel silly sometimes and is always remembered but others can only imagine what it's like ! Good luck and let me know how it goes😭 !!!

Thank you for all your information on RBD. I have been married 20 years but have now had to sleep in my own bed separate to my wife because in my sleep I have lashed out and kicked out. We took the drastic action of taking separate beds and rooms, so there is no chance of me assaulting my wife whilst asleep. My condition has become worse as I've got older. I have never had sleep controlled examinations under the NHS. I would like to be able to help if possible.

Thank you for your important info. Question, do you agree that Dystonia could be a Parkinson sign? Been suffering from voice to neck in the past 8 yrs. Can barely speak and can not drive too much anymore. My neck will not turned to right. Don't know how to test for Parkinson's. No worries, think I may know what tests maybe needed on Parkinson's. One more major symptom is that I am constantly having tremors in my sleep and during the day. Talking in my sleep and having dreams that seem so real that I am smacking, kicking my husband. All my doctors seem to think that my condition may be nothing. Pretty much about to give up on looking for answers. Thank you loved your presentation.
