Also, if you compare Qui Gon to a certain religious figure(Jesus Christ), that can be taken as a metaphor for why the Sith feared Qui Gon Jinn and why Palpatine needed him out of the picture!

Okay, long story short, both Jedis and Siths could mask their presence in the Force. The Jedi called this ability "Altus supor" - which at a basic level worked to increase one's focus on the Force, but when advanced, could make its user blend into the Force, making them almost invisible to other Force users - this ability was often employed by Jedi shadows who had to keep a low profile due to their work investigating and destroying darkside cults, as well as recovering darkside artifacts. Both Obi-Wan and Yoda used this ability to escape the empire, with Yoda going even further and living on Dagobah near a cave highly contaminated by the darkside due to the death of a dark Jedi there years before. The Sith had a specific name for their own version of this concealment technique called "Quey'tek meditation." Either way, Sidious was a master at it. The Jedi could feel his presence a little, more or less, but since Sidious was always actively masking it, it was never clear. To some extent, the big guess was that Palpatine was being controlled by a sith and everyone's biggest fear was that he himself was the sith lord, which is why Mace was so worried when he received this info.

Had Qui-Gon lived, he would have become Anakin's instructor. Being an experienced, if somewhat rebellious Master, he would have been more of a father figure and less of a brother than Obi-Wan became. Qui-Gon's death signified to Palpatine that the next part of his plan to eventually become Emperor was already set in motion. Plus, as the former Senator of Naboo, it would have been suspicious if he didn't attend the funeral.

That moment when you realize that Palpatine was essentially the Jedi's boss 😮

regardless of his sith motives, Palpatine was the elder statesman from Naboo. A jedi died on his world. It would only be appropriate for him to attend.

There is no might of angle to Qui-Gon surviving. Had he lived, Sidious would have failed. Period. With Qui Gon as his master, Anakin never struggles within the Order. He would already have the father figure that Palpatine became and Qui Gon would have never allowed Palpatine the access to Anakin. The Jedi also would have benefitted from the fact the Kenobi would have perfectly trained another padawan and Ahsoka would have become a Jedi Knight, training a padawan of her own. Sidious could have manipulated a war but would never have the momentum of eroding the public trust in the Jedi and would have lacked the piece to tip the scales with no Anakin, rendering Order 66 moot. Maul's killing of Qui Gon was the greatest accomplishment of anyone that served Sidious.

Dooku wanted Obi Wan to join him to stop Sidious, Dooku only joined with Sidious to destroy the Sith from within.

i have a theroy that another reason why palpatine was there was so dooku wouldn't get any bright ideas if you know what i mean

I'll bet he was thinking that since Qui-Gon is dead, the more rigid and younger Obi Wan Kenobi will be Anakin's master instead which'll inevitably cause friction between them so Anakin will turn to Palpatine instead for a father figure which would allow him to manipulate and twist Anakin over time into being his servant in the future. Had Qui-Gon lived, he would've been the wise father figure to Anakin instead and would've helped guide Anakin well so he'd by less conflicted then in canon so Palpatine wouldn't be able to influence Anakin as easily. Darth Maul did Palpatine a big favour by killing Qui-Gon.

I like to think of a Jedi's force ghost attending their own funeral like, "thank you all for coming."

Palpatine was the senator of Naboo. He was on the planet since they had just won an important battle against an illegal occupation as I believe any senator would do if that happened on his home planet. Since he was in the neighbourhood iylt would be politically expedient to go to the funeral in addition to the other points mentioned in the video. I believe that if not for the battle on his homeplanet he would likely not have gone to the funeral having just been elected Chancellor.

Yes, I could very well imagine that had he lived, Qui-Gon Jinn would have seen through Palpatine's mask. Whether the Jedi would have believed him or not is another story entirely.
