​@@michaeladerouw9690 Sorry to burst your bubble, but I had to Google Willem Dafoe to know who he is. I’ve seen a few of his films, but I think he has a more unique look than the one in my painting. My characters are never referenced from famous actors or singers. :)

Thank you for your comment! I use a Huion Inspiroy Keydial KD200 pen tablet, which combines a numeric keypad-a neat feature. However, it's designed primarily for right-handed users. There are other brands and types available, such as pen displays (tablets with screens you can draw directly on), though they tend to be more expensive. For beginners, I believe a standard pen tablet is sufficient. As for brands, I recommend Wacom, XP-Pen, and Huion.

Thank you very much! Currently, I'm exploring different movements and poses in my work and experimenting with Rebelle 7's new metallic features. I only use Rebelle 7 brushes, with slight adjustments to suit my needs. I'm not sure how to create new brushes either; it seems too complicated.

Thank you! I'm delighted that you enjoy my painting process! It's a bit challenging to articulate my approach, but I appreciate both neatness and messiness in my work. I aim for precision within the painting area, yet I'm also a bit of a messy painter, spreading strokes all over. When it comes to smudging, I pick colors from the edges and paint over them. My painting process hasn't changed much with Rebelle 7; I don't stick to a consistent color palette, which contributes to varied final outcomes in each painting. Thank you! Regarding brushes, it's all about personal preference. I personally use the flat round under 'express oil' in Rebelle 7. I recommend exploring all the brushes in the drawing program to find what suits you best. As for zooming in to paint specific details, I do that, especially for the face and eyes. Unfortunately, the program time-lapse recording doesn't always capture those moments. As for painting tips, practice makes perfect. Keep on practicing and use actual photographs as references. Lighting is the key to a good painting, and I use lots of references for each painting. As for composition and storytelling in my paintings, I haven't focused on that aspect as I'm not very skilled in it. Hopefully, with more practice, I can develop that skill set someday. I do hope the above helps, and enjoy your painting journey!

Thank you! I usually stick to one layer when I paint-it just makes colors blend better and gives me an easier time fixing things up. But, I do keep clothes and accessories on different layers for the option to switch up colors when I feel like it.

Good question.. I guess it took around 4 to 5 days, a few hours each day, as far as I can recall. And I do need a reference image, I'm not yet at the level of working without one.

​@matthewkctan good job on starting early with reference images. I spent quite a lot of time repeating mistakes all over because I lacked actual knowledge and photo reference practice. You create beautifying works!

@@laniakeas92 Thank you! Having a reference photo is important for me, it aids me in identifying mistakes in my paintings much more easily, especially when working with different poses.

There is nothing wrong with working with refrences even seasoned artists use refrences.
