Keeping Live Bait Fish Alive At Home and in Transport
In this video, I show what I do to take care of my live bait fish both at home in a homemade livewell and when I'm sitting at my fishing spot and traveling home from a day of fishing.

What knots did you use there? I’m not familiar and need to look it up before making this

You can use a 5 gallon bucket with a cheap airrattor and lake water to do the same.

The pump in the fish tank produces a lot of heat. I use an external water pump to move water.

Often these galvanized tanks leech zinc into the water. From what I understand, fish can handle about 0.5% zinc but get stressed at 1.0% and start to die off around 4.0%+ ... So my question is: have any of your fish died in this tank? I hear goldfish are resistant to the zinc in galvanized tanks, however.

Is there a spring or something in the switch? I have a Mercury as well, and there is no spring , does that mean it needs to be replaced? Its like a toggle switch.

No that is how mercury switches work. Up is on and down will kill it

What do you like to feed the bait fish when keeping them longer then a few days? I like using the g juice too, works great for shad I usually add a lil salt to my bait well on my boat.

Hi. Please help. My employer had a big hold tank for small, mediu, large and shiners with an airetaerator in blue liquid. I keep telling him these poor fish need actual Fish FOOD, and he keeps saying that the blue lliquid IS their food even though they are dying like a fish apocalypse. Who is right? I am going to start sneaking them food. Help. Thank you.

The blue liquid will provide some nourishment depending on how long he keeps them. Most fish die from lack of oxygen or a dirty tank

knuckle head absolutely! One thing I did change up was snelling vs the ez clips. I seemed to lose fish when not Snelling and using the ez clips. One thing I would also do is shorten the leader from the hook to the rattle. I tend to do 1-2 inches for most catfish species
