The Centre for Educational Neuroscience is a cross-institutional research centre bringing together experts in neuroscience, psychology, child development, teaching and education. We're based at Birkbeck University, UCL Institute of Education and University College London.
Together our objective is to develop the emerging field of Educational Neuroscience, using our combined strength in neuroscience, child development, psychology, and education research and its applications to education practise to establish a dialogue between researchers and educationalists to improve education and well-being across the lifespan.

Effects of Working Memory Training on Math Development
Abstract: Evidence shows that working memory capacity is linked with fluid intelligence, school performance, and ADHD inattention. This presentation will delve into the evidence showing that working memory can be significantly enhanced through targeted training. The discussion will cover how such training not only enhances connectivity between key brain regions but also leads to a reduction in inattention symptoms. Moreover, it will explore the positive impact of working memory improvements on mathematical learning, while also addressing the notable variability in outcomes between individuals
