Copper Welding - Invertig 251 AC/DC
A NEW STANDARD OF TIG WELDING IS SET INVERTIG 251 AC/DC
1) DYNAMIC ARC
Dynamic Arc is a function that allows by reducing the arc voltage an increase in the welding current and vice-versa.
The size of the Dynamic Arc variation may be individually adjusted to a value between 1A to 25A.
This allows the control of the heat input to the piece and the penetration with just the movement of the torch.
The power remains the same, but the effects are different in penetration if you are closer or far from the work-piece.
Ideal also with TIG lift and TIG Lift PIPE where you do not have any control.
NO NEED for hand control, pedals, buttons, or different current levels ANYMORE .... the Power is only in YOUR ...

    Hmm... that's not completely accurate. Given the same output amperage, the minimum necessary ( obviously over amperage will defeat the experiment)(I suggest using a trigger switch for the experiment to eliminate possible output variations ) same travel speed, I think you will find slightly deeper, more concave welds with dcen. Remember 2/3 of the heat follows the direction of polarity. Dcen continually focuses the majority of heat at the parent metal. When using AC, the heat focus switches back and forth from parent metal to tungsten, so by definition, for a percentage of time heat focus reverses into the tungsten, even regardless of balance settings. This is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when welding thin parent metal, it can actually help prevent burn through. Not a bad thing, just not the same thing in terms of penetration.

    Hi Peter. The "Mix AC/DC" mode seems like a game changer... but, I'm not sure how to interpret the display at 5:10. Thirty-five percent of what? Is it saying that 35% of the EP pulses are simply SKIPPED (and instead the machine stays on EN)?

    • @dougtenney1029
      @dougtenney1029 3 месяца назад

      Ok, never mind. The sound starting at 5:25 tells the story. Apparently the machine is PULSING, with 35% of the time on EN (DC @ 110A), and the remainder of time (65%) on the AC wave-form that you set (40 Hz, 75% EN, 110A). The pulse frequency isn't mentioned but it sounds like about 7Hz.

So I sold the 201 even though it had low hours on it. The 221 was even more awesome. Now here we are again. Please stop releasing such awesome welders. Please give me a discount so I can justify purchasing the 251 ;).

Time will tell just how this machine will fair, but considering the reputation of htp's other machine, I think this machine is going to become just as, if not more, lengendary as the invertig 220. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what other things you guys have in store.

    How would you compare Pulse mig for aluminum vs tig? Also I have an application applying hard facing to a 304 SS tube (3/8" OD x .065" wall). Difficult for me with short circuit by hand. It is typically lengths from 1 to 4 ft and maybe just 2 pcs. It might be dialed in with a fixture controlling travel speed but that is more $$. Could it be done by hand with pulse mig?

    What's the max mig torch lead length I can get for aluminum with one of your machines? All I do is manufacturer aluminum estate gates of all kinds. My business is "J.C.'s Gates & Fab" a single job can consist of close to 1000 ¾"-1" welds and each job gets several 4"-6" welds. We weld hinge blocks to our gates which are 1½" thick welded to ⅛" upright material. Our pickets are generally around. 090 thickness welded to the bottom member that is ⅛" thick. Before I started my own business I was using OTC machine which is amazing but very very costly and I can't afford one yet. I've had my own company manufacturing custom aluminum estate gates now for going on 5 years. I'm needing welder upgrades pretty bad. We have tig welders for surface welds that needs to be cosmetically appealing but use spool gun for all picket welds and under rails ect... Time wise it wouldn't be practical for us to tig weld everything and tig torches can't reach all the spots that need to be welded. I'm asking about a long lead because we still have dirt floors and continually moving the welder in order to reach every spot on a 20ft gate is a pain and a rolling cart will not roll good on dirt floors with tiny rocks everywhere. The name brand welder in using now I'm using a spool gun but I have way more than constant problems (constant meaning extreme non stop). I'm just needing something that will fit our needs without having to buy multiple welders until we find what does good. I'd like to make one big purchase rather than multiple smaller purchases that would add up to being more money in the long run.
