1985 Buick Riviera (Project)
This is my 1985 Buick Riviera that I’ve been restoring. Thankfully, due to spending most of its life in a garage, the restoration has been cheap and easy. This is my first car video so I apologize for any awkwardness or repeating the same thing over and over.

All you need is new bumper fillers and maybe a fresh coat of paint with clear coat and you will be crushing it my guy
Beautiful riviera
I got my grandmothers 85 Riviera too! It sat in her garage almost 16 years! Thanks for sharing!
Look for the video those Buick Riviera's were phosphate added and protected for rust prevention from Winter and rock salt they don't do that to Kyle's no more because they want them to rock so they don't get phosphate it no more but that one didn't those years and that's why it still remarkably healthy
I just bought a 1980 Riviera that's in very good shape other than like every car in Arizona older than 5 years old it needs a paint job, My plan for the car is to just clean it up, give it a 2 tone the paint job, remove the vinyl top that needs replaced anyway and just paint it, For the paint I'm thinking the white with Buick Green and then throw some custom wheels on it and clean up the engine and engine bay and build a car that I can daily drive but also have fun with on the weekends taking it to cruise ins, and cars and coffee's and just have fun with it. Im not looking to put more than a 2-3 grand into it.
Great to see yours in running condition I have the maroon convertible and love it 🏆
i have the same exact year and model except mine is sky blue, it has the vinyl top and a sunroof. bought it a couple months ago, been sitting for a longtime(last engine oil change was done in 2007 :)). 68K, very clean inside and out. im in the process of replacing the A/C compressor, new body fillers front and rear. I already tuned it and replaced the starter. I LOVE IT.
Can I ask where you got your fillers from? Need front and back on my 85 riviera
Well how's it turned out?
Took my first road trip from pittsburgh, PA to New York city in in one of these... The car was around 4 years old. Two-tone blue with the landau top and crushed velour dark blue interior So Smooth, quiet and comfy you just wanted to keep on driving and driving. Nothing like them since...
Love that car!!! I had one that exact color combo. Mine did have the vinyl top. What a wonderful car! Enjoy
I'm restoring a 82 riviera for my 14 yr old daughter I got the car from the first owner I bought the car 1981 there really good cars love the one I have
To all of the comments, I did restore this car. Got new trim and everything, however I got married and moved to England so I signed the car over to my parents knowing they’d hold onto and take care of it. So hopefully next time I visit America I can do an update ❤️
A Buick Rviera 1985, color dark red
my brother has one. We live in Sweden, Stockholm. He got it in Denver about 1989, Colorado when he worked for Ericson, Telecom . Now he has a colant leakage, probably in intake manafold, gasket
Beautiful. I subscribed and I would love to see an ls swap with a 4l60 or 4l80e trans
Not possible
Cool color. Never seen this color on a Rivi.
"Fern"was the name of the paint color. 👍
where did you get the plastic trim for the front and the back?
I need that trim too! for a 79
I found it on eBay actually! I put the new trim on shortly after filming this video, I just haven’t done a new update yet.
Odometer resets once it hits 100,000 I got same car in blue says 35,000 actually has 235,000
That’s good to know. This one actually only has around 60,000 miles. The car was owned by my grandparents brand new. They bought it in 1985 after they retired. They drove it for 5 years and then it lived in a garage until 2018 when I restored it.
Just got a 82 Riviera convertible, going to start restoring it soon hopefully I can be finished be summer
Very solid Riviera with a cool back story! I admire the 6th generation, and have an '83 I restored. How about a project update video? I'd like to see how she's coming along!.
