so MANY good songs from this era that never made it to the masses. Speed Kills (the Best Buy presale version) was another one that I absolutely melt when I listen to. Try - Version 1 was also superior to the one on Machina. Another reason they haunt me as it was not long after this that 9/11 happened (and Rotten Apples/Judas O came out that November I believe so dark songs like Soot and Stars are cemented in my mind). I wish we had the Smashing Pumpkins back again.

Never heard this before, sounds good, I prefer the Machina II version tho.
There was a period between The Arising Tour bootlegs coming out, and Machina coming out that had me downright floored for the return of the Pumpkins as a global superpower. The arising tour is truly the height of the band musically.
It was amazing!! when the imploding voice was still called virex, and songs like dross, glass and cash car star rounded out set lists... but it was not to last ... for with the everlasting gaze came this time and try try try and sacred+ profane
Good version but for me it miss the end with the ad lib ( the repetition) of the sentence "blue Sky bring tears " présent in the machina 1 version

@@stephbysteph_ Actually there is also another version on Machina II as well called the heavy/electronique version which is way different, much less pretty and more aggressive. There's also a really awesome live version I love though that doesn't count because it wasn't done in a studio.

this song has so many good versions, but i feel the album version is the weakest..
There were many strange decisions on both Adore & Machina. It was a shame, because they contained some of the best song writing of any Pumpkins material, but some of the poorest studio execution. Many songs were better realized in live the performances in my not so humble opinion. (Tear!)
