These are some of the rocks I collected on my summer trip in Wyoming. Thanks to one of my viewers Joseph for commenting that the black rock you see in the video is actually Flint. Petrified wood pieces are special!!!
@@NancyHamm-t9q yeah the wood turned out to be really nice. Thanks for watching
I like the last one the best!

Great cuts - thanks Rich! That petrified wood was incredible.
@@SouthernOntarioSasquatch Yeah that was some amazing wood. Thanks for watching
9:49 is a stromatoporoid, and a nice one at that! Polish that, cab it slab it, it's all good. Nice find.❤ 13:49 The slab is shaped like my home state of North Carolina!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy Great I wasn’t sure what that material was. Ha yeah it is in the shape of NC. Thanks for watching
I really like the green ones!
@@karencole1623 yeah I really like the green Aventurine. Thanks for watching.
Really nice stuff 👍💯
@@BenGrigsby I really like all the different colors of Adventurine that I found. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful specimens that dont necessarily need to be cut up. Just sayin' 😊
@@BarbaraM-ro3xq Yeah that’s true. I won’t be cutting up every piece. Thanks for watching
Dude you have awesome content you should consider posting these in RUclips shorts like some of the other viral ones. You could really make it big
@@Coltarsabandoned Thanks for the great compliment I appreciate it. I do have quite a few shorts check it out. Thanks for watching. ruclips.net/user/shortsNRcxkl3Woe8?si=o2k_fePlbjrRhJaB
Really like the agate slice. Wish there was an easy way to backlight them in a display case without having to move each individual slab or stone.🤔
@@RickSmith-kp3sy Yeah that would be awesome. Thanks for watching.

Amazing!
6:55 Maybe leopard jasper? Nice!❤
@@RickSmith-kp3sy It cut fairly easy so I don’t think it’s a Jasper. Thanks for watching

@@NancyHamm-t9q Yeah so do I. Thanks for watching
A lot of fun cuts, especially 14:05 and 14:20🤩 I love rocks! Thank you🥰
@@maybeebuzzy2265 Yeah there’s a lot of beautiful rocks in this video. It’s hard to pick just one. Thanks for watching
Great finds. Thanks for sharing. The green one @ 4 mins looks like mariposite from calif.
@@andrewp.schubert2417 Yes it does look like it, but since I found it in Idaho, I’m not sure. Thanks for watching.
So far I love the one with green lines running thru, also the one you thought was green jasper! The one that is green and white is great! The granite with the red is awesome, the 1st piece of wood is sweet, and the whole video is nice! Especially the slideshow!
@@karencole1623 Thank you for the great comment. So many amazing pieces it’s hard to pick just one. Thanks for watching.

what a lovely array of agates from one area !
@@Mummaearth yeah those are amazing agates. Thanks for watching.
The one before the last cut that you said wasn't very interesting...IT IS BEAUTIFUL...the colors made it look mystical 😁
@@Livnin5D I just watched it again and you’re right it is mystical. Thanks for watching.
The 2nd piece of what you didn't think was petrified wood was agatized wood, petrified wood a little further along in the process. Take a thin slice against the grain, a cross section, and back shine some light or hold it up to the sun and you'll see where the agate/chalcedony has replaced some of the woods grain.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy yeah I wasn’t sure but thanks for the info. I will do just that. Thanks for watching.
@@RichsOutdoorAdventures Hope I didn't sound preach. I've just had some before. You've cut and seen a lot more rocks than I have.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy no I didn’t get preaching at all, no worries. I appreciate the information. I have some really nice petrified wood that I haven’t cut yet so check back again.
@RichsOutdoorAdventures I'm a subscriber so I look forward to it!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy Perfect. Thanks for subscribing.

13:05 is definitely petrified wood, but it's become agatized.

the dark stuff is flint
@@kevinbennett8301 yep, it sure is. Thanks for watching
Fascinating!!!
If you make additional slabs on 3rd stone, it might open up other patterns. Petrified wood surprised me with that Dark interior. Try cutting cab on angle on 1st green sheen rock instead of bands going straight across. On some your stones, you might need to cut additional slabs to see if more opens up. Nice agatey patterns. Wonder what additional slabs would open up. Interesting curved patterns on triangular, last piece. Enjoyed the video. So many of the stones available these days are vastly different of the stones available in the 1960's-1980's. Thanks for sharing.
@@joane.landers9151 I will definitely be slabbing more of the agates. Unfortunately the black green sheen rock is a soft stone and fractures easily so I don’t think I’ll do anything with it. Thanks for the great comments. I really appreciate it.

@@ShlisaShell Yeah there’s some great material in Wyoming. I will definitely have to go back hopefully next summer. Thanks for watching.
The deep black rock appears to be a piece of flint rich in maganesse hence the black color. If u but a light to it it could show yellow or green ...I see some fossil materials embedded mostly on edges..so that leads me 5o believe flint, possibly ,about 90 % sure.
The other black rock earlier in video looks to be palm wood
