So if I’m a gamer who doesn’t like to die a lot, this isn’t the game for me?

Underrated

Just got it last night and currently working on getting down the controls. Been playing Rise of the Ronin for the last few months and it's a completely different type of combat and parry system. I will practice more this weekend. Love these type of games!

There is a lot about this game that I like, and to begin with it's fun. The design and a.i though is ridiculous. It just ruins what could have been a really fun game. Limiting the credits only adds further woe. I know that the guy that made it is very good at it, to be expected, but to expect everyone else to have that level of mastery is extremely short sighted. Games should be about options and accessibility, well assuming you wish for it to be a success. There's just nothing that compelling you to keep going. However level 1 is fun. I've never seen beyond 2 😅. I come back to it in the hope it's been updated. It never has sadly.

Finally I played the game today, I totally agree with the review. It is not perfect, but overall the game is fun, there are some combos, different special attacks, there are some strategics you can do. Probably the only horrible thing are the screen shots between the stages, this looks like a cellphone game. And aligning with the enemy some times happens, but the game controls works, so I also don’t regret buying the game.

Ya Nintendo Switch has an extra frame of lag when docked compared to handheld. Switch generally has more lag than the other consoles. 1 frame I think. As far as lag in this game, apparently movement is designed to feel weighty, jumping, attacking etc

Quick question: Does the game have the same units as it does in the mobile game? Does it still have the aku, traitless, or relic enemie types? The ported version does not, so I was wondering if this one does

I've noticed the switch version seems to have far fewer mods available than pc. Like Eternal Doom for instance. Made by the same team that made TNT Evilution is on pc mod page, but not Switch.

Informative review. This is one of the best NES game to come out in 30 years.

The 2019 Unity versions were on all systems at the time, now this new version is on all systems. (Sadly, due to Platform policies, full Mod Support is not on Switch but is on other platforms, Switch does have Featured mods, which are all but 2 of the addons from the 2019 version available to use).

I picked it up today and was extremely impressed with what they offered. There’s already 34 pages of custom WADs. Unfortunately, some of them mainly the custom midis don’t work. I got mine on Microsoft Games & Steam. I already had both games on Steam so it was a free update.

I’m really impressed with this new update, all the new bells and whistles are great to have, the multiplayer and coop is a chaotic mess and super fun, and the easy mod support is great for those with zero experience with gzdoom and don’t want to bother with WADs and pk3s.

Dude this package rules. Tip for switch owners you only need to have purchased one of the games for it to be free.

I like the physics in FX... but that's all. The lag made me lose a lot of balls. Also the graphics in FX3 are way better than in FX. FX doesn't even have ball reflection on the playfied and the rails look all jagged and less round in turns. So this is hard... the physics are fun in FX but everything else is just garbage... I try to like it but I can't because of the bad graphics and lag.😅

I couldn’t be bothered with that final boss what a garbage boss man reminded me of finial boss in sonic superstars great game ruined by the most tedious shit I’ve ever had to put up with just amazes me why they felt to give him 100 hits and fast attacks you can’t dodge with rockets that can glitch and blow up in your hands what a joke of a boss

Im surprised you didn't comment on the speedrun wing medel for each of the areas. Specifically in regards to how it unfairly challenges the player

Saw it on the Nintendo Direct and it instantly called my attention, I've been a huge Metal Slug fan since I was 4 so a game where I can throw units against each other and watch them fight is my dream game as a kid

This was such a fun puzzle game. Glad to see it on the Switch.

Personally would have preferred Top Gear 2 being added with new tracks as opposed to the original. Loved it in the mid-90s.

the games were only called "top gear" in america. in japan and in other regions they were always top racer.

Top Gear is a BBC show as well. That likely explains the name change.

Is this game a download or physical copy?

Also something worth noting: The VA in here does a pretty damn well job for a game that was only availible on arcade systems!
