Hi mate, really love the videos. Doing exactly the same, stereo into rav 4. Slightly confused as you say you don't have the factory y cable (neither do I) but in another video you seem to have the cable... my question is whether this works without the factory cable? Have bought the other adapters you mentioned... cheers

I looked on so many Google forums and other RUclips videos without any help and I couldn’t get to the rear light cluster to identify the correct cable. Within ten minutes of seeing this I had it wired in to the red “and gold dot” cable and all working great. Cheers 🍻

I tried pin 26 and 27 for camera trigger. Connecting it to 12v coming from back up light. Didn't work...

Since the ID plate is set to the side on 3rd Gen Rav 4s, does the camera work fine for you in terms of how accurate you sense of placement is when backing up?

Hey, I have the same stereo as yours however the camera I got is different it's got the camera that connects to an extension with black and red to go to reverse lights and the other end of the rca to go to the 4 pin connector for the stereo, I used a voltmeter to see the volts on the trigger wire coming off the 4 pin and it reads 6 however the trigger from the camera is 12 and I cant seem to get it to turn on the stereo, any suggestions?

Thanks for the video, I just installed the same backup camera on my 2010 RAV4 this Memorial weekend, the part that I had a lot of trouble was the connection of the camera to the backup light, there is not much space to work on but I learned few things during this installation and I will be posting a video so you guys can learn just as I did from this video and others. Do you have a link for that camera? The box in video doesn't seem to have any brand name on it.

Don't go through all this. 15-20 minutes with a wireless camera. Plug into 12V plug in car, splice wire into backup light in the tail light.

we need to see were the wiring is connected at the rear of the unit ,we have the same kit and rav 4 and we had to order another small rca cable adapter to plug into the unit,we need to see were the wiring comes from at the unit,you left that bit out,? any one can work the rest out.
