@ Yep! Just 3 times! Once on Christmas Day in 2004, once in 2008, and again in 2017, which was the most I had ever seen. They are projecting up to 1.5 inches for us on Tuesday, so I am hoping it’s more than we saw in 2017!

@ Our roadways are very prone to freezing conditions because of the humidity. Especially on the Mississippi river bridges where condensation from the river hangs over and freezes on contact with the bridge. If the temperature ever falls below 30 degrees, more than likely at least a few major roadways will close.

The piece is 9 minutes long and I don't have the time to listen to it all. And figuring out the hon choshe for a particular piece takes deep analysis of the piece as you can see in this video. ruclips.net/video/VVSh6X-hAbE/видео.htmlsi=YpbN-wo7ls6dXJqT With that said, I think Ghost of Tsushima Suite: V. Seiiki might be played with an 8 hon choshi, but it might not sound just like it. Most likely, the flute part of this track is created with a digital shakuhachi sound and hard to re-create it with a real instrument. You might be able to do it but it might be hard technically or impossible because of lack of shinobue range. That's my first impression.

I have no doubt you can will be able to do it... maybe by the end of this year! Let 2025 be the year of the shinobue!!!

Yes! Sometimes shinobue players use tonguing too, but the default technique is yubiuchi 😃

Just use 7Meri, and not use 0.

@@Diehydro yes, by starting with the all holes open, you can concentrate on the mouth position first instead of worrying about the fingers which is a whole another factor. 👍
