Thank Eugene. I was a Huey Crew chief while I was there from dec 83 to Jun of 85. C co 7th Combat aviation battalion.
I made another video this weekend. I don't think there is anything new in it. But if you want to check it out I will be uploading it later this evening. I also made two others that will also be uploaded. What was the job duties of a crew chief in the Army. I was a crew chief in the Navy but I believe the job was totally different.
We were stationed at Ft Ord from 70-75, Hubby was a POL SUPPLY SPECIALIST at Fritsche. Loved living on Post, some of best memories are from the friendships there.

Correct if I'm wrong but I believe fort ord built the new during the 80s because there' was some kind of incident where a young dependent died because the family was living in a car or something odd because Ord didn't have enough family housing for all. It was a big thing and made national news.

I lived in duplex officers quarters walking distance from USACDEC headquarters was located. Don't recall address. 1970-72.
There were no parks on Fort Ord that I can recall in 1984 to 1985 and 1987 to 1988. I lived in Frederick Housing area in 1987 to 1988. Frederick Housing was close to the AAFES Gas Station on the Marina Gate. Frederick and Abrams Housing was close to the Gas Station. I lived on San Pablo Court. I am interested in the Exchange, Commissary and theater area. There was a stadium. What happen to the air field and the other areas I mentioned. Thanks for your video.
When I mentioned parks I was referring to the housing areas. They were called parks. The housing you were in was not the main gas station. You were near one of a few small exchanges. Basically a convenience store. Schoonover was another housing park. There was a large field there and tennis courts. They are both still there. Fritzsche airfield was turned over to the city of Marina. It's now a civilian airport with a small business park. I believe the police academy still uses part of the facility for defensive driver training. There is also veterans facility there and a parachute school. The main exchange, commissary are going to close soon. The credit union is still there but with the exchange closing they may leave too. I'm not sure about the main gas station. The theater near the exchange is used by a charity I think.
Oh by the way you weren't near the main gate either. That housing was by the Imjin gate. You could go out that gate to cross Reservation Rd to get to the airfield, go left to Marina, or right to Salinas.

actually the community center, the library, and one of the churches was right off of Marshall Park. Fitch Park was just down the street and Fitch school was located at Coe Ave and North-South Rd. Fitch has now been changed to Seaside Middle School i believe. They have altered Coe Ave and widen North- South Rd. They also changed the name to Gen Jim Moore.
I lived on Napier Street,I do not remember if it was in Hays park or not.From from 85 to 89.Well,lived in Sea Side before we got on post housing.
If you want to know I can tell you if you give my more information. Were you a child or a soldier? What school did you go to or what other streets do you remember leaving the house? What do you remember seeing on the way to or from the neighborhood. I lived in the area most of my life.

Basic training Aug-Oct 69. Then Stationed there from June 81 thru Oct 83. 327 Carpenter Court. Right across the highway from Fritze Army Airfield. Loved Ft Ord!!
Fritze is now a civilian airport. They have a skydiving school and i believe MPC has a police academy driving course located there.

I was a district manager for The Herald. I covered Seaside and Marina. I don't remember Carpenter St. Was it on Ft Ord. Ft Ord has mostly been cut up in Seasise, Marina, and Monterey. Part of Abrams Park has been demolished and new houses built. Imjin has been extended through to Hwy 1 near where the 12th St gate was. The area near 12th St has been converted into an outdoor mall and medical center. There is also a new VA center there. If you take 2nd Av from there there are new houses, apartments and a hotel. Beyond there is CSU Monterey Bay. They have taken over or demolished many of the old barracks across from the bowling alley. The bowling alley, bank, and other buildings are gone. They expanded the stadium and added an aquatics center and sported center. The area where the old prison was is now a concrete business. The commissary, PX, and credit union are still there. Oh and the gas station. The hospital has been coverted into a secure facility for the DOD.
@@skipstreet In 1983 Our quarters were 3 minutes from the hangar where D 2-10 Cav's hangar was. Come out of the parking lot cross at the highway and it was the first street on the right.

I what station thair in the 70’s at the old wood hospital locate it at 3th and 4th Avenue and 9th and 12th st. I would love to see the Location if possible thank you.
The old hospital was closed in the 70s I think. Probably shortly after you left. A new hospital was built in Giggling Rd and 6th Ave. Right next to Marshall Park. The army allowed solders to take the wood from the old hospital for home projects. I know because my dad, grandfather, and I took some. My dad and grandpa built a tool/work bench in our garage. It's still there today. I think they also made a couple of stools. My parents still live in Marina. I'm in Washington state right now. The next time I'm home I'll try to remember to get some video of that area. I think they recently torn down the church near there and the parade field is gone.

Tim you block comments because people say bad things about your wife. That's protecting your wife. On the other had Apple makes determinations and asks for opinions but then blocks the comments. It's called a.... Shit I can't remember the term. Basically she creates a situation and asks for a solution but then she blocks the ability to provide the solution.
Anyway. She creates the situation by making accusations about you and Chrissy and asks people to give their opinion. Then blocks the comments so you can't. I suspect she only disabled comments after she found she wasn't getting comments in her favor. It would have been better for her to just delete the video or hide it. Instead she took the cowards was out and made so her opinion is out there and there is no way to refute it or counter it.

Apple Hernandez is a sad women. She was an attractive women who's good years as a bar girl are behind her. She is trying anything to get views (money) so she can feed herself and her kids. She tried some dance videos....she tried some bathing in a stream videos...but found she gets the most views talking about other more successful youtubers. She found her niche. Her train of thought or what she is trying to say is often lost because she puts almost no time into preparing her thoughts and ideas for video. Her glory days are over. She is no longer that cute bar girl. She is now a middle aged, slightly over weight, mom with kids and no prospects.

Even her sidekick or whoever was helping her with her channel can't help with the views and engagement. He changed the channel's name and contents to fit viewers but people just had enough of her bs.
I lived at 218 Remagen Rd., from 81-83 and there was a park at the top of the road where it met Ardennes Cir., and there was another park on Tunisia, I believe. I know that area has been built up with newer houses now, but it seems the arks were taken out in that neighborhood at least. I'm only going by what I've seen on Google Earth.

I'm glad you open your comment section. Apple Hernandez is a desperate woman, jobless and in dire need of money. She's a typical RUclipsr that will post anything for financial gain, a very good example of what most decent Filipinos and foreigners hate for a woman. She's just one of the many that has no relevant contents on her channel but to spread unfounded rumors.

I didn't turn off comments. I have not made a video in some time. Maybe three settings have changed. Thanks for letting me know. Because as I said in the video I want comments. I'm trying to understand.
I just checked and you are correct. I changed a setting that I think was effecting because I don't see one for turning comments on or off. But I checked a couple other videos abs the comments are off on them too. My guess is I have violated something on RUclips and they are restricting those videos. I don't know why.

Yes it is. Most of the streets are still there. But many of the houses have been demolished and replaced. The new houses are really nice.

Where you are is not military housing for bachelor or single military soldiers. It is not post quarters or any type of official military housing. It was an apartment complex that was built on the back side of the golf course. The only people that could rent there were military. But they paid rent. It was an apartment complex on post for military families only. It was called Sunbury village or something like that. Three of my friends lived there. I say again this was not military quarters for single soldiers, nor was it "Luxury Military Housing".

Thank you for posting this. We were there in 1981/1982. My husband was in CID. Is there anyway you can post the old buildings where the CID offices were. Also, the commissary & the PX. My youngest daughter was born in the hospital there.
I have three other videos on RUclips. I don't know where CID was but I have videos of the PX, Commissary, and hospital.

@@skipstreet I wish I new, & my husband passed away 5 yrs ago so I can't ask him. I don't know if there is a way to find out where the CID building was. I also wish I could remember what street we lived on. All I remember is it was 2 story & 4 or 5 units together. We had a small patio & then there was a hill you walked down to a playground. I'm sure those were all over. If I come up with anything I will let you know. Thank you.
@@nancyzingg2373 well if it was a two story it was probably near Injim gate since those were the only two story. And there are parks. Look at video 2. I think you will find your housing there.
