The only way it worked for me. Tried so hard with arena, flying, dodging, mount etc. There was simply too much damage. But with the box it works.

You can use spiky balls as well, and not ONLY in this fight

So my giant arena was useless thanks for the tip im doing a pure mage and this might help because ive tried dodging, increasing my dps, calling my friend for help and a bigger arena all of these attempts failed very hard

Dam. To easy. Just beat him on expert. Slime saddle ball o hurt buff potions and that was it. 30 secs i beat him in the box. Thanks abunch dude.

Hey all! I've been seeing a lot of questions asking whether this strategy works on "For the Worthy". The honest answer is: I don't know. I hadn't ever heard of For the Worthy until after I made this video, so I've never tested it. I don't have any plans to start a new Terraria playthrough in the near future, so someone else will have to chime in. If anyone can verify whether it does or doesn't work in For the Worthy, I'll heart their comment so others can see. Thanks!

What about the For the worthy seed? It increases enemy contact damage a lot

Does this strat work in For the Worthy? I started a for the worthy master mode game and I just can't get past the eater. He's enormous has a shit ton of health and hits like a truck. The regular hits from the guy hit as hard as the vile spit in regular master mode. I've farmed out a full set of ancient shadow mail as well as a bunch of potions but I keep dying. The vile spit does almost 100 damage per shot with the gear I have. It's balls hard. Was thinking of grinding out all warding accessories, the best modifiers and farming potions then trying it but honestly I'm kinda done at this point. If that doesn't work I'm just looking for alternatives aside from just gitting gud. Somebody mentioned trying a flail. Apparently the rework makes them perfect for deflecting all of the vile spit.

Add a slime mount and bounce to deal extra damage

If your going to use this box method you should use a lot of spike balls I mean A LOT

There a problem it's hard to get those potions

another thing to note is to not run into the head like this guy the head deals 70ish damage so try to avoid it (you can tank the body segments)
