    All fittings below the flood rim Of the highest fixture have to be long sweet fittings. Vent fittings and drain fittings included. Clean out must be at floor level or higher

    The tester is showing an open "groundED neutral", or simply "neutral" conductor. The neutral is considered a grounded conductor because it's grounded at the main panel. A broken groundING conductor (the bare) will not prevent the circuit from working, so tying all those together, and making it work, was simply a coincidence. Somewhere the white neutral was loose, and you fixed it without knowing it. 🙂

      @killer2600 2 месяца назад

      You need to know your test tool, the tester (Klein RT250) is showing an open ground AND neutral. As for this video, it scares me that someone is doing wiring and doesn't know all the grounds are tied together not just to make the tester happy but as part of proper electrical work. I'm glad this isn't my kitchen because yes the tester is happy but I don't trust the actual wiring issue was fixed instead of covered up.

    It unfortunate we couldnt roll the main drain line in the next bay to the right to hit the vent without rollibg flat. In our locale flat vents are required to be the next min pipe dia up servicing the drain load, pitched to drain, and require drainage standard fittings (those vent 90's- no; vert to horizontal- long sweep) until you are 6" above the highest flood rim of the group or 42" above FF which ever is higher. Your bath drain could be be considered an s trap if your drain arm changes horizontal plane before venting without increasing pipe size. In the future hit yor vent before your drainage arm changes out of horizontal. Planing is everything.

    What is a "ufer"? What does that stand for?

    • @HomeBuildingDIY.RE.IMBDLLC
      @HomeBuildingDIY.RE.IMBDLLC Год назад

      A “Ufer” ground is slang for what the National Electrical Code (NEC) addresses as a concrete-encased grounding electrode. The term “Ufer” does not appear in the Code, but many in the industry use it.

    This was not done right. Why make a tutorial if you don't know what you're talking about?

    • @HomeBuildingDIY.RE.IMBDLLC
      @HomeBuildingDIY.RE.IMBDLLC Год назад

      We think the work was done correctly. We welcome productive criticism. If you think the work was done incorrectly; please cite and reference the code you think it violates; and present a statement on what is wrong and how it should be corrected to adhere to code.

    • @electrictim
      @electrictim Год назад

      Does not comply with NEC 250.52 and other common electrical codes. Conductor is not continuous. If you're using the ground rods as they're supposed to be used, you cannot cut them to shorter lengths. If the rods are just used as supports to hold the conductor so that it is a concrete encased electrode (which you didn't mention, so we have to assume that is not the case) then there needs to be room around the conductor to be properly encased in concrete. The screws holding the ground bar onto the panel are coarse type which cannot properly get 2 threads holding onto the metal frame of the panel so it is not properly attached. If you're making a tutorial, you are saying this is the right way, or at least A right way to do it. This is misleading to others who don't know any better.

    • @electrictim
      @electrictim Год назад

      Not only is this installation not code, it is not safe. Once your screws and splices fail (which they will), you have no more ufer because odds are your water pipe is ran in pec line and cannot act as a ufer either.

    you can't fall more than your pipe diameter before venting a trap. your tub is a full blown S-trap and would not pass inspection. you used so much pipe individually venting all of the fixtures. You could've wet vented the entire bathroom group and went up the wall with 1 continuous waste and vent saving way more pipe and fittings. How i wouldve done it: 90 under the water closet, run back to the wall, install a 3X3X2 wye, shoot through the floor joist, install a 2 X 2 X 1 1/2 wye (2" for the wet vent to continue up the wall to the Lav, and the 1 1/2 branch to catch the bath tub) And then 90 up into the floor/ wall with my wet vent upstairs. install a 2 X 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 TY and shoot over in the wall and 90 out to catch my Lav. Then run the SINGLE continuous waste vent pipe up to the attic tying into my main stack if it is in close enough proximity. If not, I would put it through the roof by itself upsizing to 3" before terminating to open air. This way would save you tons of pipe and fittings and it would look a ton better. Remind you this is dependent on the Ontario plumbing code and it is how I would've done it in my jurisdiction.
