George went after a Music from Big Pink sound, but it didn't quite work. It's a pity because the similar sounding Long, Long, Long , recorded just three months earlier is such a great recording.

The best version of the reheasrsal was the one from thr 29th of January with Billy Preston on organ But George's solo demo recorded at EMI on his 26th birthday and released on Anthology III is even better.

The ELO snare drum sound should have been removed. Wish they didn’t have that in the first version that was basically Jeff Lynne instead of the Beatles.
