Thank you. I've wanted a Decapod for a long time. But now that I have it, I'm a bit tired of it.

Everything I use is MTH. I've been warned to never use a Lionel transformer with MTH engines. I was running this with an MTH Z1000 transformer hooked to an MTH DCS Explorer so I can run it off a cell phone.

Over the years since making this video I've had issues running the LED strips at 12 volts DC, so I redid all the cars last year but haven't run them yet. It's a done project, I'm not planning on making any more changes to the cars.

2 more, tried this once before.

Sadly I gave away all "my" Marx trains when moving, just kept 2 engines (used 1 in repairs for someone else) and a few cabooses. Still have all my late father in laws Marx stuff though. Going to stick more cars behind the 666 and see how many it will pull.

At home I don't. But in clubs I belong to we do at open houses so visitors know who the members are.

Since this hasn't moved forward since October, I'm converting the left table to a 4x8 so I can run something for Christmas.

It isn't so much the wood top as it is getting it here. Everyone who offered to haul it has had to back out. I could get it cut to size at the store but my wife said no to the "cookie-cutter" look. Just too many small pieces.

The backdrops were faded so we had them touched up.

Yeah I can see her Point. I know in my Area Lowes and Ace will haul Lumber. I have an SUV so I have to have my Sheets cut in half into 2x8 pieces sometimes so I can get them in my Vehicle. My daughter's Husband has a Truck and sometimes I can get her to haul my stuff.

I tried making an update video yesterday but wasn't happy with it. When I'm recording live I seem to rush through, and get somewhat tongue-tied.

@mytrainhobby5318 Yeah I'm sure it's different. Probably lots of rules you have to go by.

@@jebbthetrainkid1281 Not so much. Best way I guess to put it is different members have different areas and levels of interest, and not always trains.

It's been slow going, but I have made some progress. I lost about a week as I was sick, and some other things popped up.

Thanks. I actually got a lot done yesterday. Only the 2 large tables get legs, and I put them on yesterday, and all 3 tables are assembled. Problem I have now is not a lot of room to move around. Plus the non train stuff has got to go. I want to get some sliders like those that go on the bottom of chair legs, don't want to scratch the wood floor, it was not cheap.

Yes, me too. Had I swung the camera around you would see how cluttered this room was with non train stuff.

Wow, good question. All in all, in my experience, I like it. It can be a bit tough to get set up and running in that it doesn't want to communicate at first, sometimes several minutes. You may have to cycle your phone, the explorer, or both. The engine has to be set to the default address. You can't set up 2 engines at the same time. Only runs up to 3 engines. A few times it just stopped working, I had the restart it, it didn't blow the fuse, but I had that happen as well. Starting to feel like I could write a book. The layout I'm planning is basically 2 loops and I plan on running the outer loop on this so I can run 2 trains on it.

Yes, most of the time. Right now 2 of the 3 lines are under repair and only this elevated line is running. If it were up to me, and some day it may be as this is in a retirement community, the whole layout needs to be rebuilt. Hoping to start my layout soon.

They have a train group, organized clubs are frowned upon for insurance reasons (stupid PA regs). There are actually 4 O scale layouts, and HO and an N. One of the O layouts is going to be converted to S as they recently received a donation of some American Flyer. If it were my decision, I would completely rebuild this layout, it just has too many issues.

I'm looking forward to it, but we will need to get everything else settled in first, plus finish up the half dozen or so loose ends hanging out there. I'm actually thinking of setting up the Christmas display and building the new layout around it.

Gotcha, yep there’s always a lot to do do after a move. That sounds like a great idea, to start with the Christmas layout and build around it!
