How to Discount Districts In Civilization 6
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.9 месяцев назад
Learn how to discount your districts to get ahead in your civ 6 games.
you forgot one, the having 3 cities more than anyone
I did forget about that one. I assume it isn't repeatable right?
@@tylermurray9223 nope it isn't
Thank you! Great video.
Very helpful for newer players , I think the advanced video will be useful for me and many others
This is why old Kongo is the worst civ
I've been playing for a while now and Era score and how to score it in a pinch has been a mystery to me. Thanks for the vid king
Me getting Pedro randomly on a map seed with only 10 tiles of rainforest, none of which are anywhere near me: 🫥
With the new forest balancing implemented in BBG, it might make Brazil spawn slightly worse. If it isn't enabled it usually spawns pretty decently.
It may have been better to present this information broken down per era by highlighting what you should do throughout the era and how you can push yourself over the line.
Thanks for the advice. I have been busy, so I haven't been making videos, but when I start back up I will try that.
That Tokugawa tho 👀 👀 👀
Tokugawa is always big.
Thank you so much for making comtent on civ6 bbg
does placing your district still lock in the production value? or are you saying to complete the district first before placing down another of the same type
Placing your district does lock the production value. If it is discounted and you place it it will be locked in. If it isn't discounted, and you place it will also be locked in. Pre-placing districts is still a good thing because as you complete more civics and techs, your districts will become more expensive.
Brazil mentioned! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
🥳
The misclick attack is just 🤬, key binding is way better. Also didn't realize amenities differed by continent.
Totally agree, and the continents can be huge for your game especially if you spawn on 2 or more continents. This way you can be happy in your cities.
At the start, u dont list gouv plaza but after u say that it count ? Would like an example of discount with the classic start commercial hub.
Gov Plaza is a specialty district, so it will affect your discounts and it can be discounted; however, you only get a 25% discount on the gov plaza instead of 35% with the BBG mod.
1 gold 1 faith is better cause u change from 2/2 to 2/1/1 tiles and receive 1 production instead of 2 resources, in fact u lose 1 gold, not huge but 5 gold, its about several turns to buy new scout or trader, and u ll prefer to take ships, horses and amber as first 3 tiles (u don't have any farm resources for eureka plantations, only 3rd radius). With Settler in 2 turns and at least 3 turns to move u skip 5 turns (as much as Foreign trade civic) For situation with rush the pantheon u take 1/1 policy and Dyes tile, but still no need in solo game. Only valuable idea is to change later so if u lacks 1-2 faith and won't be able to change policies imho
Hi Rass, By plugging in urban planning your 2/1/1 tile effectively becomes a 2/2/1 tile. Then when you settle your second city that city also gains production. The +2 production you receive is worth much more than +1 gold. 1 production is the equivalent of 4 gold, and you only work the 2/1/1 tile until you get your pantheon. Normally without working the faith tile you would have to switch out god king after early empire. By working the faith tile and putting in urban planning you can get much more production. I usually play multiplayer, but this was just an example game to show the keybindings so you can range attack with an archer without moving it. Overall working the faith tile is usually better than god king because when you settle your second city you get 2 production.
Also I wasn't focusing on the techs this game. I was only playing for the showcase, so the game was rushed because it wasn't the content for the video.
@@tylermurray9223 Thx for the answer, but the consept is that "take tile 2/2 and god-king" instead of "2/1/1 and +1 prod" for the 5 turns till Foreign trade civic, and for at least 2 turns of building and 3 turns for moving the setteler (not talking about waiting someone to cover settler) u lose gold with same amount of production (as much time as for the next change of policies or more), i agree that after second city is better to swap (as open Trade) and use your method (and ofc production is much better than gold), its like the way of minmaxing this situation imho I usually forget about policies due to timer so its kinda cool lifehack anyway not to lose on distance without switching And thx for the video
Couple of counter points: Golden ages are more impactful in the early-mid game. You pretty much want to *always* pick up Monumentality if you have a decent faith gain for easy civilian Units. Faith is pretty worthless in the early game, unless you're rushing a Religious Victory. Getting Monumentality means you can snowball that much faster with Settlers and Builders. The faster your cities come online, the faster they start producing yields. Pen, Brush and Exodus are NOT as impactful. A boost to Culture is nice, but it is dependent on the amount of cities you've founded and how well they've been built up. Getting Settlers for Faith is vastly more powerful, since every Settler you purchase is a future new city, which means more yields across the board, not just Culture. Also, rushing the Civics tree is a very niche playstyle that only really works with Civs that have a Civic-locked unit (Poland, Brasil) in case you want to do a timing attack with their unique unit (Winged Hussars and Minas Geras respectively). There is practically no reason to strive to be the first to unlock certain civics. Exodus is only good to pick up if you're behind in the religion race, or if you're trying for a fast Religious Victory. The buff to religious units has no impact on your infrastructure, besides being able to spread your religion to your cities faster. Arguably, it's more powerful during Normal Ages, since each converted city gives you two Era Score, though it does have to compete with Pen, Brush and Free Inquiry, which are stronger when the player knows what they're doing, since there's no resource throttle (Faith) for those two Dedications, you just get extra score when getting a Eureka or Inspiration. Free Inquiry is typically what you pick if your Faith gain is weak. More Science is just faster access to powerful units, helping your early game conquests. Getting access to higher tier melee units faster than your neighbours is huge for early game wars. Even if you don't plan on being all that aggressive, it's still the best choice, because all Civs want to be competitive when it comes to Science. Additionally, it gives you benefits from having Harbors and Commercial Hubs, both of which are Districts you pretty much want in every city. As for Dark Age cards, you DO NOT want to enter a Dark Age, at least after the Ancient Era. Dark Ages come with a hefty Loyalty penalty, which can cripple your rate of expansion, whether through Settling or Conquest. To combat these Loyalty problems, you may have to slot in Policies cards that take up valuable space. This is especially true if your neighbour is in a Golden Age, you may find yourself in dire straights if your cities are all rebelling on you. The Dark Age cards are more of a consolation prize. Outside of very specific niches, you should always strive to at least secure a Normal Age.
Hi Lazer, I was looking at this from a multiplayer perspective with the Better Balanced Game Mod. Many Civs don't generate faith; instead they often go commercial hubs with magnus internals. Most people pick pen brush to get to important techs like feudalism and civil service in the first era. Feudalism is one of the most important civics in the game, and the card serfdom allows your empire to expand massively. Then many players transition into free inq. for a timing push, or they continue into penbrush. In BBG Exodus of the Evangelist can be used to increase your production towards units. This golden age has been recently changed. Also in these games having a dark age is much better than a normal age. Then you can hit a heroic age, and plug in these useful cards. Many people in a caravel fight like to plug in twilight valor to get an extra +5 combat strength against their opponents, and this can change the tide of the naval fight. In a non-competitive game of civ, what you are saying can make sense, but this is the meta in competitive multiplayer.
Of course you want to golden if you can, but if it is not an option try to go dark.
@@tylermurray9223 Ah, I missed the part where it was MP focused, my bad.
You probably should have made this more clear.
7:44 great advice
Thanks! I just found this out not too long ago. Hope this helps!
I don't get it.
The most important part is to complete more districts than you have unlocked. Then take your district you want to discount. Take the number of those districts placed, and compare to your districts built divided by the amount of districts unlocked. If the number of districts you want to be discounted is less then this, you will have a discounted district
