Zilla vs Harley Benton - 2x12 Celestion V30 cab comparison
Просмотров 2 тыс.5 лет назад
Just upgraded from Harley Benton G212 Vintage to a Zilla Studio Pro and since both have identical Celestion V30 speakers thought I'd record a bit of a comparison. First 40 seconds is the Harley Benton Next 40 seconds is the Zilla After that about 10 mins of me f ing around playing random riffs and a little bit of lead. Starts with clean and crunch on the Harley, then Lead on both and finishes w...
Dillinger Escape Plan 43% Burnt Cover

This is one of my all time favourite songs. Never imagined a couple of years ago I'd be able to play it (granted with some pretty shoddy sections) Large portions of this were taken from UG tabs but there were several sections that weren't quite right, including the jazzy section and the sweeps so I worked out those sections by ear. Recorded on Ibanez Prestige RG652K-KB into Reaper.
Periphery Flatline Cover

First song I've learned on my 7-string. Yes it's another Periphery cover, but they hit that sweet spot of being really challenging to learn, and yet achievable. The difficulty with this one is nailing all those slides up and down the fretboard, which I almost manage not to flub. but not quite.

Harbinger - Protest the Hero - Guitar Play through / cover by Ian Crewe from the EP Pacific Myth Played on Ibanez RGA121, recorded through Positive Grid JamUp This took ages to get down. Still not perfect, but time to move on to something new. Hope you like it!

It’s been about a year since I decided to make an effort to improve my guitar playing after plateauing for 15 or more years. This is by the far the fastest song I’ve ever managed so far. Not perfect but slowly and steadily improving. Onwards and upwards. Recorded solely on JamUp with my LTD MH-1000 NTG Deluxe

Have you ever heard of The Dillinger Escape Plan?
@@BGID7 what's that?
Dude what the fuckkkkkkkk this was incredible. You absolutely nailed this dude!!!!
Dude what the fuckkkkkkkk this was incredible. You absolutely nailed this dude!!!!
@@dudefolife210 Thanks! It was a tough one.
fuck if that octave part isn't so hard to get the timing of
Great job, sir.
This is really good. Love the bend grooves and the tapping part is cool too.
Thank you. It was a fun competition to be part of.
Excellent playthrough. 🤙
Epic🔥🔥
This is really impressive
heavy metal 🖤 🤘
The sweep picking legit caught me off guard
Everything Ben Weinman wrote catches me off guard lol
The miking is so horrible that the comparison makes just no sense, sorry.
Was the Harely Benton significantly worse than the Zilla cab? Thinking of getting one or the other
The Harley didnt sound awful or anything but it did have much less low end. I was more just surprised at how different they sounded though. Harley was pretty light compared to the zilla too.
i find it pretty strange no one has said your video looks sped up yet... because your video looks sped up
Thanks for the kind words! Nice to know the weeks of work I put into this paid off to the extent that it looks superhuman. Awesome! 👌
i day i can leg this one out
Beautiful playing!
I love that Sushi t shirt
Dude, I’m jealous
Leave your stupid comments in your pocket! 😜
How long are you playing
I've been playing 28 years now but you don't need to have been playing that long to play this.
The whole video duration is making me high
Thanks for watching the whole duration. Drive safe! 😄
aşırı iyi ya dude you nailed it
Wow super impressive
Thanks for watching 🤘
Great cover!
Thank you!
hello, do you still have the tabs for the John brown parts ??
Great playing m8
Cheers mate!
christ this is impressive. how long did it take to learn?
Thanks! Cant remember exactly but maybe 1-2 months about 5 hours a week. Slow progress for some but good for me.
never heard the song before, but i was impressed nglll
3:12 *BREAKDOWN*
You did excellent work! Nice cover, man!
Thank you!
The only good part of this song was the breakdown/outro.
Is that a criticism of the song or the playing?
@@iancrewe8230 Of the song.
@@unromanoarecareanaveragero8275 haha, fair enough, it's not for everyone. Take it up with Ben Weinman 😁👍
What tuning is this?
Hi, thanks for watching, it's DADGAD tuning.
@@iancrewe8230 I appreciate that my dude
Holy fuck dude! This is so clean. And the Mastodon shirt is a plus too!
Thanks! Spent a long time trying to get those fast bits down. Wasnt 100% clean in the final recording but close enough for me.
You killed it :)
Congratulations ! Not an easy song ! I still have it in my "have to cover" but I'm still too far from it (:
Dude! How many years have you been playing jazz?!?
Haha I *wish* I could play jazz!
Are you sure ...? Because the technique is off the hook - so I mean proper jazz not noodling for the fuck of it.
@@haydenprice2126 playing good jazz takes a whole lot more than just technique
tremendo
Daaaah. Just watched it again. Such fun stuff. Booyah
fuck yeah
Awesome cover!
Hey dude, awesome cover. Did you use a tab for this or did you figure it out by ear?
Thank you! Started out with a tab online but a lot of it was wrong so ended up having to work out most of it by ear in the end.
@@iancrewe8230 Nice. I asked because I'm in the same situation! There doesn't seem to be any tab of the crazy chromatic part online
Well I can save you a bit of work cos I remember it as I do that as a warm up still all the time. You'll have to figure out the strings but the finger pattern is 1324 1324 123412 1234 432143. Good luck!
@@iancrewe8230 Thanks man! Looking forward to your future videos.
This is sick, dude! I’ll sub in hopes for some more TDEP covers.
Thanks! Definitely planning to do more as soon as I've finished writing some stuff for a post-covid band.
All the more bizarre for your rather mundane background. Travel lodge? Any how, you rule. One of my favourite dittys.
Hahaa! Just my extremely poorly decorated bedroom. I think a travel lodge is probably nicer. Anyway thanks for watching ;)
That was fucking excellent, well played!
Thank you. Has been one of my favourite songs since I first heard it.
Sick playing and sick Kiesel!
Thanks very much! Shame John Browne wasn't as impressed 🤣. Was up against some tough competition and winner was well deserved.
Dude. Killed it
Thank you! Planning on doing some more DEP as soon as i get some time.
How the fuck did Ben write this?? From a compositional point of view it makes literally no sense.
When you learn it you see the logic in each section and patterns emerge but how you come up with each of those sections together to make a whole composition is beyond me.
Hardcore and jazz
Zilla
Definitely. Wasn't long after this I moved the HB on. Still got the zilla.
I like your parts a lot. You have some insane technique. I guess Monuments fans just have their shit together. I have seen almost no bad entries for this contest so far.
Thanks very much! Yeah i've been checking. The standard in this comp is high. I'll just have to hope I'm in with a chance.
Awesome playing man! All the best
Thanks very much! Fingers crossed.
You fucking killed it, you should be front row at every show in case they need you up there lol
Cheers man! Much appreciated
