It sounds very nice and the IPLA Skinner has a lot in common with the Tabernacle. I will have to load up that sample set. Your transcription is very good congrats! There is now a published edition of this O My Father in a book by Kenneth Udy called "Alexander Schreiner Six Previously Unpublished Organ Pieces" by the Leupold Editions.

I believe I was in the Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club with Paul……an outstanding man and great musician….a former member of the Mormon Tab Choir, correct? He played the piano and I led the songs at our meetings. Sorry to hear that Paul has passed on. Your O My Father is outstanding. You have captured the Schreiner registrations perfectly.

Very nice arrangements of these familiar hymns. Before watching you play, I always assumed that Alexander Schreiner just put a 16-ft stop in his melody, but maybe you know more and he just played it an octave lower some of the time. The accompaniment certainly sounds wonderful with the strings on these Aeolian- Skinner organs. Thank you for playing and posting, especially with the video, which I can watch to see how you play.

Your grandfather Paul A Hanks and Grandmother Jean Hanks were great examples of Jesus Christ. I was privileged to have had them be my MTC president in Hamilton New Zealand. I loved your grandparents very much. I was saddened to hear that they passed onto that special place. They helped me at a time when I was struggling and helped me get through it. Your musical talents reminded me of the musical genius they both were. Thank you so much.

Beautifully played on this wonderful sample set. We were serving an 18 month mission in northern Italy when I first met Andrea Mascioni, the builder of this organ in Giubiasco. He asked how he could sell his organs in the US and I told him Americans had never heard of his organs. I told him about Hauptwerk, he knew nothing about it, so I took a keyboard and a laptop and demonstrated, and he was blown away. He asked how he could get his organs sampled. I was aware of Piotr Grabowski (although I had not met him). I emailed him and he responded and ended up coming from Poland to Switzerland (not far from the Italian border for Giubiasco) and Italy (for Azzio). I have played both of these fairly new and small organs and they are really fun to play (both tracker action) and sound pretty much like the do in real life on my DIY VPO. I am happy that you used Giubiasco for this piece, one of my favorite sample sets for Bach.

A very lovely arrangement, I really enjoyed it. Sounds just like Alexander Schreiner playing the Tabernacle organ. I am 75 years old and remember listening to him many times. When I was on my first mission in Italy, I had two companions who had taken private organ lessons from Schreiner and liked to talk about him. (We played a lot of Italian organs on our p days) I also liked your Schreiner arrangement of O My Father. I am interested in learning more about how you do these arrangements. Very nice, sounds just like the RUclips of Schreiner playing it on the Tabernacle Organ. You have done a great job of transcribing it. The Skinner organ by Evensong, I assumed played through Hauptwerk, sounds like you matched the stops exactly. I have been trying to play it, but I don't have the Skinner sample set. I am using the closest thing I have to it, the 3 manual Wangren at the Masonic Auditorium. I have been putting a 16 foot coupler on the melody, but see you just played it an octave lower, I will try doing it that way. I also just use the hymnbook for the basic notes and use Hauptwerk to transpose it up four half steps (B I think) and I try to match the accompaniment, but haven't figured it completely out yet. Your video is a lot easier to listen to than Schreiners 1960s technology recording. Anyway, I am glad I found this and have learned a lot from it already. My guy, your talent and the spirit in which you play with ceases to amaze me. I'll admit that I have a hard time listening to most organists and their concerts, but I would very much enjoy any concert that you preformed in. You and Seth Bott both play in a manor which catches my full and undivided attention.
