I just bought Langs Banana Rum in Tesco today I was looking for a review to compare my initial opening of the bottle taste etc and it was reassuring when you described the banana toffee flavours. It reminded me of the old Callard and Bowser banana toffee swirl caramel sweets from back in the day Thanks for your review I really enjoyed it

The 10 year I have is also a cask strength barrel pick of 61.3% abv that I don't think the 15 year at lower abv can touch.

Nice work sir. Just got given a bottle of this for my forthcoming birthday. I'm a huge fan of the Gunpowder so looking forward to trying big brother. Painkiller is a great shout. I'm thinking maybe Eggnog too at Chrimbo - Charles Mingus style.

Sounds like a good place to visit.Maybe next time I'm back in the UK.

is that as good as the 2021 or 2022 Black Tot reserve ? I don't like how Pusser's adds sweetener to their rums

Haven't got round to getting this yet.I'm a British forces veteran and have been a Pusser's fan since the mid 80's after having it in the mess for the first time.I would be interested how this differs to the 50th Anniversary blend (which is a cracking rum) The Gunpowder proof remains one of my most favourite rums. Cheers for the review 👍

Just picked up a bottle of this myself (Butlers in Brighton). Really pretty weight of palate and nice concentration. Will keep my eyes peeled for what they do next.

I'm drinking Greensand ridge rum a molasses rum distilled in kent, very nice no dosage or spiced, and it's really creamy almost like baileys. Well worth checking out.

they have 10 year cask strength store selections that are around 61%ABV. I don't believe the 15 is truly cask strength. it's probably been diluted a little bit

very hard to find in Canada now, I loved a cockspur and coke.

Hamilton 151 Demerara is probably better and no sugar added and unchill filtered but not sold in UK and maybe not outside of the U.S. and it's less than $30 U.S.

Nice review. Enjoying the reserva at the moment, agree with your tasting notes I also get a lovely buttery finish with what can only be described as biscuitness almost a rich shortbread. I've never got that from a rum before.

The Reserva is fantastic to pair with a medium to full body cuban cigar! And it's amazing without a cigar as is!

just bought the new Blackwell 007 rum today and I hope it's a sipper style and I know it's not the same blend as the cheap yellow label stuff. It's still sourced from J.Wray & Nephew and I figure it won't be a sugary mess style rum and the black bottle looks great but the yellow label is the one that will be in the movie when it finally comes out. $32.95 here in L.A. is a good price compared to 35 pounds in UK

I love the look of the bottle with the alligator texture but it seems Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros is the only Cuban rum with some higher proof to it and it's a shame
