Starlight glimmer is easily my favourite character in the entirety of Mlp. I love how she’s not just a redeemed villain who’s suddenly loses all of their personality other than now being ‘nice’, but we get to see where her ‘evil-ness’ came from in episodes like these. She’s an INCREDIBLY anxious and self conscious pony who (also probably has social anxiety) and anger and jealousy issues which we get to see her actually work through and improve herself on throughout the series! Her friendship with all of the characters but specifically Trixie, Sunburst and Maud are so refreshing and show how many different sides there are to people and how despite VERY clear differences between them they still get along. (Sorry for the rant I just LOVE starlight. 💜💫🩵)

My opinion on Starswirl the Bearded and the Pillers 1. I think the whole bringing them back to life to live permanently in modern Equestria is stupid. They should have remained as legends in history 2. Or they maybe should have brought them back from limbo in order to rekindle their relationship with Stigyan then sent them back to i guess "pony heaven?" And as far as Starswirl goes, the writers should have DEFINATELY made him less a jerk! I guess they did that for his, Starlight, and Twilights' character development i guess???🤷🏾‍♀️ and perhaps Starswirls' whole "fixed" mindset that he has is due to what he experienced as times being different back then but still no proper excuse for how hard he was going towards everypony 🤣 (not funny but still). Writers should have made him the understanding, wise, brave, caring, heroic legend that Twilight thought he was. Imo

This, entire, situation, is, bogus. Why wouldn't Starswirl, the guy who was meant to be the smartest pony in the room in his age, leave ANY kind of note of warning to not mess with the spell? That seems like the most important thing to remember to do when you do a hail-mary against an end of the world level threat. This is such a convoluted way to have an anti idol worship message, especially for Twilight. I hate the Pony of Shadows more so than the Pillars themselves, the Pillars were just a collective bumble in terms of writing, the PoS was literally just a discount Nightmare Moon with less relevance to anything related to the story. Nothing new, nothing cool, just a retread of a villain that was already done entire seasons before in an infinitely better way. The Pillars are something I'm disappointed with, I despise PoS for what it stands for.

I don’t really like how they brought starswirl back from limbo. (Good plot idea though.) I liked it more when he was.. yk.. supposed to be a mystery. Someone twilight looked up to thats a historical figure. Specifically in this way. Good idea, poor execution.

Trixie pulling Maud into the hug is too precious. Having a best pone group hug puts this episode on the top of my favourites list.

This is why I love Starlight Glimmer in episodes with Twilight because she is the voice of reason for Twilight and just the best character when she is in it. As for the episode, in my opinion, I love it. I love the backstory with Starswirl And The Pillars of Equestria and how they sacrificed themselves to seal The Pony of Shadows aka Stygian. But I will say the two flaws of this episode is 1) Starswirl because he is just unlikeable jerk and has a mess up worldview that one can't be good because they're evil. (Or how he says it "Once a villain; Always a villain.) And 2) Twilight is just being stupid in this episode for the sake of artificial drama and because she wanted to meet her idol, Starswirl, despite him later belittling her as insignificant. Like what the heck, dude?! And the fact he and The Pillars banished Stygian who just want to be like them is just makes them horrible ponies. And if you think about it, their arrogance and pride is what lead Stygian to be feel with hate and anger and turned into The Pony of Shadows. Overall, good episode with a good climax and lore, but bad character introduction.

I absolutely hated Twi in this episode. She wasnt in the right, Zecora could die and saying Fluttershy needs to rest when SOMEONE'S live is at stakes is insane, it was unbelievable to me that Zecora COULD LEGIT DIE and they wrote Twillight being so so so chill about it...

Jealousy is bad when you try to suppress it There has to be an outlet for it otherwise like with anger you will blow your top Feel it experience it then move on

Equestria Girls merch is selling overseas, and if it sells well and considering that Gen 5 of the franchise bombed, it wouldn't surprise me if Hasbro goes back to Gen 4 with Equestria Girls

I still appreciate Sunset having more starring roles than Sci-Twi, but you do have a good point. I thought I was the only one who cared about Twilight having the center all the time. I didn't care that much about the posters for the specials, but when they transformed in Forgotten Friendship, not only did Twilight transform first, but she was once again in the center during the Rainbow Laser attack. The fact that this happened during a special about Sunset, made me a bit mad.

I actually loved this episode! All the friendships throughout the series were really good and I kinda felt bad for Starlight but I saw where she was coming from. Starlight and Maud's friendship was really good and I loved Sunburst and Twilight in this episode. This episode was great

This is my favorite episode from Season 7 because of Starlight, Trixie, Twilight, Sunburst, and Maud all together to play Dragon Pit. It is definitely a 10/10.

Honestly last seasons make Twilight always be the "bad guy", "wrong" and generally an overwhelmed mess. Episode with Discord and her friends. Episode with Trixie and Starlight. This episode. I miss first seasons Twilight. Yes she could get overwhelmed and stuff. But she was always a spanky voice of reason.

I was so excited for an episode that had Night Light and Twilight Velvet actually have characterisation and dialogue, it's such a shame this is the only episode where they do anything

Sunset is my 2nd/3rd favorite character (its a toss up between her and Starlight) (My favorite is Fluttershy)

There’s some things I like and some things I don’t like about this episode. Let’s start off with the things I dislike: 1) I just don’t like how Iron Will took advantage of twilight’s family. It’s quite upsetting when twilight’s parents thought they had just won a free zeppelin cruise that they could go and spend quality time with their family only to find out that their daughter is the main “sponsor” of the whole cruise. 2) I absolutely feel bad for twilight since she was pushing herself to make everyone “happy” which leads to my next problem. 3) everyone was literally treating twilight like a celebrity figure. Often using her for petty stuff like hosting activities on the whole cruise or just signing autographs. Sure you got the princess of friendship who save Equestria multiple times but you don’t take heroes for granted. Even Starswirl the bearded had plenty of “me time to himself.” Just give twilight some personal space. Now moving onto the things I like: 1) I love how despite all of the pressure on twilight, she still tries to make sure everyone and her own family are truly happy. It’s such a nice touch to twilight’s selfless aspect of her character and always trying to prioritise others. 2) I always find it funny when shining armour is feeling sick from air sickness. The way he tries not to throw up is a bit funny though I do feel bad for him 😅 3) I love how cadence was there to comfort twilight when she missed the shooting star. Another reason why Cadence is the best princess because she’s always caring for twilight. I always view their relationship to be like a wholesome relationship between a younger sister and older sister though they both technically are sister in laws but of course Cadence is twilight’s FSBFF ( Foal-sitter best friend forever) it makes sense that they have such a healthy relationship together. Lastly I love how twilight’s family tried to perform the shooting star event in order to simulate the whole experience. Flurry heart looked so cute as the sun (I think it was). It’s very heartwarming because after how twilight did everything just to make her family and others happy, her own family returns the favour by simulating the shooting star event. It’s really wholesome that twilight gets to experience quality time with her family. Overall, I absolutely love this whole episode. It’s not often that we get to see twilight’s whole family together in one episode. I really wish there were more episodes that would revolve around twilight and her family because her own family is just as important as her best friends.

Rarity has been my favorite character for over twelve years now, and she still is my favorite character. She's the perfect combination of adorable and funny at the same time and her spotlight episodes are always a treat to watch.

I see we both agree the second movie was great, peak, what's funny is that was the first one I watched, so the first movie was more a prequal movie to me. and that yeah, her potential was sidelined, but she got some great shorts

This is was my least favorite episode from Season 7...was because of Rainbow Dash. This is the one time I HATE her so much for her throwing away the pies Pinkie Pie made her and then lied to her about liking it. And worse, she ADMITTED of lying to Pinkie for years and then proceed to make the "I didn't want to tell her cuz it would hurt her feelings" excuse. Like what?! No, bad excuse!! Not wanting to hurt your best friend's feelings is one thing, but straight up lying to your best friend (for years) that you like something when you really didn't is dishonest and disgusting. Telling your friends the truth of you not liking something will hurt them but they accept your honesty and be more understandable. And Rainbow Dash wasn't that at all in this episode. But I will say it was pretty funny with a nice reference to S2 with the detective hat and her detective skills.

Why did have to make such a dumb episode. It's not even overall a bad one, but the premise is so convoluted for it to happen this late in the series. I don't hate this episode, I'm just flat out confused by It's existence.
