A relaxing time-lapse video of making an original hand-carved print. In this video I go through the stages of transferring the drawing, carving the linoleum block, and printing with my book press. I talk through the process but also allow you to enjoy the carving with the relaxing music.
The print is of a restaurant in Sorrento, Victoria, Australia.
Music from RUclips Studio:
Allégro - Emmit Fenn

Your work is amazing. I wanted to ask one thing, did you sketch this image or did you create it digitally. And if digitally, could you please share your process ?
It was very relaxing to follow your process.
Nice piece. :)
I need better knives, nice music! This video was enjoyable. New favorite medium
Beautiful work especially with this drawing, full of details 👍🏻 Could you please tell us the numbers of each Pfeil tool used for this engraving ? 🇫🇷🙂
Beautiful!❤
I love watching your videos, it is like meditation ❤️, your very talented!
Impressive work, intricate and beautiful ❤️
Do you wash the ink off before making the adjustments, or just wait for it to dry?
Hi @stephengreater1190, yes I wash the ink off to make adjustments. Either with warm soapy water or with baby wipes.
@@sharntelford539 Cheers. Thanks for explaining and clarifying.
Hi, beautiful work! Cab I ask about the ink at the beginning - I tried this once but my ink was even after several hours of drying making my hands black while carving - do you have any tips? Thank you! :)
Thanks! It could be the type of ink you're using? I use black India ink by Windsor and Newton. I believe it's based on shellac and is water resistant. It still took maybe 15 minutes to dry.
@@sharntelford539 Thank you! I will definitely try it :)
such accuracy !
very nice !
very nice can you please tell the tool sizes

Really nice work! Could you please explain in more detail what gauges you are using for the carving? I am building my own set of tools and those seem to be very versatil. Thanks in advance. Cheers!
Hello new subscriber here. I hope you upload more of these watercolor timelapses. Personally, you just taught me more about the process than most other art channels and classes have. I never thought about starting with the values to help with coloring depth, which is one of my biggest struggles in art aside from perspective and consistency of scale and design. Would appreciate it and I think you have a lovely calm voice, excellent post production values for a simple video, and clear aim of a video. :) thanks for posting, take care
Looks great! :) Edit: would love to see you cutting a little more experimental, "playful" subjekt.
Amazing work! 👏
Thank you!! 💖💛
Awesome
I have just begun experimenting with linocuts and enjoy it very much. Your subject drawing is very beautiful. You are obviously a gifted artist. =o)
Stunning! Great job with the tree area. The music choice is also very nice. Thanks for sharing!! 🙏🏻
That's amazing!
Beautiful artwork...thanks for sharing this.
I can't find this paper in a roll that allows me to make larger prints. Where did you get it?
Ooo so delicate. Whats the name of your tools? If you can send me a link I would be greateful so hard to find good tools for linocut/wood in Sweden /Susanne 🐳

This is so beautiful! I can't believe you were a beginner. I'd love to see more videos from you, though I know you haven't posted in a while.
Incredible! I wouldn’t have been so brave to try that detail. One day maybe lol
Beautiful!!! So is this correct, you carved only what wasnt black....so all the negative space? The tree must have been so difficult.
